Hi and Welcome! You're in good hands here - post any questions that you have when you get the kit. If you haven't already, you may want to consider ordering some cartomizers or a few spare atomizers. Keep some juice handy too. You'll be vapin in no time.

Worked for me - 1 month analog free yesterday!!

Thanks for the warm welcomes!

I've been reading up on vaping and there's a few things I don't get. What's a cartomizer? Is it just a cartridge and atomizer combined?

Can anyone recommend some other high-vapor producing tank based units? I don't want to have to refill a lot or deal with carts that have to be cleaned constantly.

Thanks again!

cartridge aka cart is use on a normal atomizer (not a tank atomizer) and is the least popular way to vape

On a manual battery, a drip tip can also be used on a normal atomizer for testing juices and vaping occasional juices or ones that are too thick for you main vaping method. A 510 atomizer uses a 510 drip tip and the wider Ego atomizers use an Ego drip tip.

A cartomizer is a disposable 1-piece combined cart+atomizer (some reservoir types are more like a tank with internal atomizer). Cartomizers are the most popular way to vape favorite juices. They hold more juice than a cart, general need juice added less often, keep your flavors totally separate (not mixed in one atomizer), provide a pretty consistent vape, and no atomizer to keep clean. Downside - bit of a learning curve to fill them properly and in the case of the standard stuffing types to keep them damp so they don't singe. They generally like thinner juices (for basic popular stuffing ones I use 80PG/20VG or less VG and reservoir cartos like up to 30% VG and some 50/50 juices). I also avoid juices the drop a lot of flavoring sediment - that can clog up a carto. The most popular cartos for 510 threading are Boge. I can get 10 days use out of a Boge (which is 3 weeks for me because I use the Boge 1/2 the time and vape another model 1/2 the time). Some people clean and dry cartos to get some additional life out of them, often with inconsistent results.

Yes a carto is the same as an atty and cart combined. I would suggest starting with a pv with a large carto that holds at least 3 ml rather than a tank system. All the tank PV's that I've tried leak unless you get one that uses a cartomizer with it. I love the Go-go with the chopper tank but the Go-go with a 1300 mah battery and 3 ml carto is very good without the tank. Go-goUSA.com | Go-goUSA.com PV Collection 012.jpg:2cool:

A cartomizer is a cartridge combined with an atomizer. For tank based cartos check out GotVapes. They have several different types. Event the tank-type cartos have to be cleaned sometimes to make them perform well. I clean my Fluxomizers every 2-3 days.

Hello and welcome.

I'm waiting on a starter kit that I'll probably be returning soon after getting it. I had the notion that I needed something that looked and tasted like a real cigarette. After reading a little in this forum I've come to the conclusion that I'll definitely not get the taste and the equipment looking like a real cigarette is of less interest to me now.

I love the looks of the stuff on the my freedom smokes so I'll probably poke around there for something of better quality.

It's all a bit confusing, because when I see cartomizers on these different sites it generally doesn't show me which ones go with which batteries and which ones need a "drip tip" (which I don't get either!).

I guess I have some more reading to do.

That's where I got mine from. Hoping I have it before the weekend!

I'm sure you'll let us know when it arrives and what you think about. I'm trying to decide between that and the 510-T starter kit now.

Absolutely I will. I think I just wanted a larger unit so I didn't have to charge or refill as often, and MyFreedomSmokes had the best price I'd found anywhere for the 1000mAh batteries.

!

All cartomizers should indicate the threading they fit (510, 808, etc). None of the cartomizers I've used "required" a drip tip. Some people, myself included, just prefer the feel of the drip tip.
