I didn't say a word...just vaped and enjoyed being analog free for the last two weeks.

My son just received his Joye 510T in the mail today.

My job is done!

He ordered from Urban Vapour. They shipped promptly and called him to let him know that they were out of the 20ml juice he ordered and if it was okay to sub, so good communication. The coupon code listed on their site for 10% off all starter kits didn't work (he mentioned it in the comments section during checkout), but they made up for it by sending a couple of 5ml bottles of juice. Overall, an excellent first experience for my son. I'm hoping his vaping experience is equally as excellent!

Vape on! :vapor:

Thanks everyone. It does my heart good to not only be off of analogs, but knowing my son will be, too! It's going to be good to be there for each other.

I don't remember feeling so alive and happy since I started vaping. It seems to not only be improving my physical health, but my mental health, too! Did anyone else feel that way? Theories?

Same here. My brother and now one Uncle (30 year smoker) all converted. It was pretty easy, I really didn't do anything other than vape in front of them.

So glad to hear that a lot converting has been going on! That is so awesome!

I'm sitting on eggshells wondering how my son's first full day of vaping is going...I told him to not pressure himself...if he really wants a cig, smoke it, then go back to vaping...yada, yada, yada. I think I'll text him at work when he's on lunch to see how it's going. lol

I told my parents and a friend the same thing, but I fear it was the wrong approach. I have a feeling that I made the "switch" appear to easy just because it was easy for me and I made the switch by myself with no external pressure. After a few weeks when I saw that they hadn't completely made the switch, I told them to make a conscious effort to replace smoking with vaping, to replace that first smoke of the morning with a vape instead and to resist the urge to smoke. The urge to smoke goes away very quickly after a couple of vapes. Then it's a matter of repeating the same thing at lunch, afternoon breaks, dinner, etc.

I took a bit before I totally quit smoking but one day just couldn't do it anymore, tasted like crap and made me feel sick like the first time I smoked. Then I was just done. I hope he finds it easier than most but anyone I've tried to convert has failed. I think because I wanted them to quit smoking more then they did.

Thanks for your input. After much thought, this is what I ended up doing. I just asked how the vaping was going. He said his ecig was leaking a bit and I gave him some pointers. Considering I don't even have my eGo yet, I'm quite knowledgeable of his 510t because of this forum! Hehehehehe! He told me he doesn't want to smoke analogs anymore. He's going to stick it out! That's my boy! :D

Thanks for your input. I've decided to check myself simply because of what you said. No pressure, let him come to me. I did it without anyone in my face and that probably helped me immensely when I think back on it now. Even if he does have a cig, I'll just support him...not nag him. ;D

Congrats to your son!

A friend of mine to whom I gave a 510-T also complained about his 510-T leaking, and I was trying to trouble shoot over the phone. Turns out he was trying to fill the cart through the mouth piece :)

Hahahahahaha! This is what my son did last night! This is also the same tank that is leaking, so maybe it's toast and he needs to chuck it for a new one. I'll text him and tell him. lol

I hope it goes well for your son, and congrats to you on your first few weeks smoke free. I'm in the process of converting someone (god...sounds like a cult or something!!) and she says she's craving a cig pretty badly, but holding out. I too am sorta like phil, took to it without any issues at all. But after seeing all the stories on here, it's definitely an individual journey.

I have a coworker that borrowed some equipment for a few days and then returned and said she wanted to smoke for the summer. Oh, well, seems odd as she claims to be a health nut.... go figure.

Thanks very much. It's nothing now, but the first week was the toughest. There was definitely those "something's missing" and "cigarette!" moments. Just vaped my way through it, blowing smoke rings all the way. lol

Funny you say it sounds like a cult...I'm also an avid knitter and my husband says that's a cult, too! I guess I'm drawn to a cult atmosphere! lol

Go figure, indeed! I guess we're all addicted to to various things in cigarettes, as opposed to just the nicotine and the habit of inhaling and exhaling. I know I need to feel that hit in the back of my throat and I enjoy the action of exhaling vapour. For other smokers, it's something else entirely...but for a health nut to want to smoke for the summer is someone who just doesn't want to/or is fully ready to quit, I guess.
