I'm finding that I'm a big fan of fruity flavors (raspberry, strawberry, pina colada, etc), but I'm finding myself feeling like the flavors could be stronger. I remember seeing an "extra flavor" option on one vendor's site (can't remember which one right now) & I'm wondering is this something that many juice vendors offer? If they don't offer it per se, can I request it in the comments section when I order?

Does anyone have experience ordering juice w/extra flavor? How much does it bump it up?

Thanks!

You are correct. Some vendors offer this as an option on the initial order page of the flavor along with container size, nic content, pg/vg ratio, etc. If not, most vendors have a comment section where you can add a request. Bear in mind that some juices are pre-bottled and pulled from the shelf so special requests will be ignored.

When given the option, I always order extra flavor. I have not ordered the same juice in both regular and extra to compare the results. For juices that are known to be thicker, some vendors will use a thinner base if requested. I know Virgin Vapors will do that.

For the fruit flavors, some people mix a small percentage of menthol juice to give a "cooler" flavor or more "hit". This might be what you are looking for to improve current flavors. Some vendors have this as an option, also. I've tried this and in many cases can improve the flavor. Careful not to add to much or the main flavor will get drowned out by the menthol, as it is a very strong flavor in itself.

You might also try a higher amount of PG in your juice. PG is a far better flavor-carrier than VG; high levels of VG tend to mute the flavor.

Good point, thank you! Do you think that a 50/50 mix is sufficient, or should I go even higher on the PG? I started out with all-VG juices & after reading about reactions to PG, it scared me off a bit & so I decided to go at PG slowly, first ordering 20PG/80VG and then 50/50, but that's as far as I've gone toward the PG side.

Hny, it really all depends on your individual preference and whether you have any sensitivities to PG or VG. A small percentage of vapers are somewhat-to-extremely allergic to PG, but most of the anti-PG chatter is just that -- chatter.

There is a thread somewhere on ECF that asked what people's favorite/usual pg/vg ratio is, and I believe 70/30 pg/vg won the day handily (that's my preferred ratio, too. :)). That ratio seems to provide the best of TH, flavor intensity and vapor for most of us (although 60/40 is also popular).

Unless you know you are sensitive to either PG or VG, you can really use any ratio you'd like. When a vendor "suggests" their own ratio, I go with that (they're the experts, after all), unless its too high a VG content (too much VG tends to make me queasy -- but that's a very rare reaction).

Good luck! :)

EDIT: Many vendors offer you a choice of pg/vg ratio, AND extra flavor. Darth Vapers and Highbrow Vapor are two that come immediately to mind, and I can recommend them both.

I think there is a general consensous that a 50/50 to 70/30 pg/vg ratio is a good starting point. PG allegedly provides more "throat hit" and flavor while VG provides more vapor production and in some cases a sweeter taste. Mostly VG or all VG is generally a thicker juice in consistancy, and may pose issues with wicking in certain devices.

Many vendors that offer multiple choices in their pg/vg ratios will tell you out front which one they feel provides the best results, and unless there are other factors in making your choice, I'd follow their advice. After all, they created the recipe and they know what likely works best for the majority of buyers.

Thanks, folks -- I will try ordering some juice w/extra flavor & give that a shot!

You are so right about the menthol - I got some Serenity from Rawr w/the lowest % menthol add they offer, and it was really great!

This is actualy what got me into DIY.

Because back in the day, e-Liquid Vendors Didn't offer Extra Flavor or Double Flavors.

My thought was buy Flavorings and then add a Couple of Drops to Reatil e-Liquids to "Pump Up" the Flavor.

Thanks a bunch, guys & gals! I do have some all-VG juice here that is certainly very thick  but I'm getting by with it because I love the flavor. Going forward, I think I'll stick to at least 50/50 or whatever the vendor recommends. Thus far I can't see that I'm sensitive to either one - maybe I'm just sensitive to the idea of being sensitive

I'll get a grip on all this vaping stuff yet!!
