...Then I want to go to glass tanks. How do you prep those? What do you do to get the most out of your o rings and caps?
No difference whatsoever. The only difference between what you have and a glass tank is the glass itself. Surprisingly durable despite what most people think when someone says glass and thinks "breakable". Yes, glass will break if one is not careful, but they will tolerate many accidents. My IBTanks have fallen from a bench to a hard tile floor without breaking a couple of times while rolling and being attached to the Provari. Remember, much kitchenware is made from pyrex and is quite durable, too.
Lubricate the carto and tank tool with a little e-juice while inserting through the tank's endcaps. If you find it difficult for an easy fit when putting the caps on the glass tube, lube the contact points with a little juice, otherwise just try a dry press fit. Once the tank is assembled and filled with liquid, I do a momentary rinse under the water tap and carefully dry the tank off from the greasy film of the e-juice remaining.
I do still highly recommend spending a few extra bucks on purchasing the Slap Yo Momma tank too over the cheaper alternatives. I know you can't make it through video demo's Rose, but for the benefit of any new potential cartotank owners, here is PBusardo's review of it.
