putting together a ncp630 vv mod

i'm failing pretty hard lately. i think i'm biting off a bit more than i can chew. either way, i bought the stuff for the vv kit of of madvapes, though since they didn't have the full kit i had to buy the small boards instead of the pre-printed ones that come in the kit. i have experience soldering now but never on a board like this. is there a diagram on how to set this regulator up? all i find is how to do the pre-printed board and not a blank board. sorry if this has been asked, just couldn't find a topic on it anywhere here.

wow that does come with everything. i'm putting all my stuff in wood boxes i'm building. they are coming out awesome, now to just get my wiring on the same level. thanks for the links.

Found this pic of the board laid out somewhere on madvapes a while back it may help out. I was going to do the same thing in a week or two when I had some cash to order from madvapes again. The chip is only like $1.69 and the precut board is $.99 and I can get pots cheaper on ebay. Tons of the resisters ect laying around.

I know this is for the madvapes board but it shows where everything needs to be on the same line and what needs to connect with each pin. Hope this helps!

yea i used that to try the first chip. ive done 3 now and have 1 left. each time ive done it the chip starts to overheat.. its irritating. the last one i did i even used the ncp630a circuit diagram to do it and it still overheats.

and i cant find a small enough heatsink at radio shack or anywhere to use to combat it.

ended up buying the smallest heatsink they had and now the mod is a bit oversized but it turned out pretty good, ill post pics later
