[Q] Is my atty dying?

I already searched through the forums for my specific issue and no luck. i am new to vaping and i just got a new 510-t kit about a week ago. i use it very often on a daily basis.
here is my issue: I used to get an amazing throat hit from my juices, and about 2 days ago i heard a crazy sizzling from my atomizer. i noticed that since then, my throat hits were inconsistent for a couple days, and as of now i no longer have any throat hit from my ecig, even on a freshly charged battery.
I use 11 and 18mg nic juices and i keep my tank topped off so that i dont dry hit my atty accidentally.
my question/fear is, have i been over using it and have i already burned out my brand new atty?:(

throat hit is just as important as flavor to me. hope someone can answer/help.
thank you!

WELCOME TO THE ECF

I'm pretty sure that you need to clean it since it might have some build up on the coil. Which will give you less vapor, throat hit, and flavor. Some have had some bad luck with the T atties. This is usually from not cleaning them often enough. I cleaned mine on an everyday basis. It did help to have 6 atties in general to switch them around during that time.

I don't know the process for cleaning the 510-t but hopefully someone does.

Thank you for the welcome and for the reply!
Well ive only had my ecig for a week so i havnt cleaned it yet, but i still get tons of vapor and still somewhat of flavor but, not much throat hit.
i did just read on the forums that your taste buds can die from vaping to much and that you can get used to the throat hit, thus not feeling it. I havnt been drinking water either so perhaps my mouth is just too dry/abused?
haha. i will go drink some water and brush my teeth without toothpaste and see if i get any hit or flavor back.

any help still welcome/wanted from anyone who may be able to help me!

No problem and you should definitely stay hydrated. It's true that a person's taste buds usually end up fading away for a little bit after they start vaping. It happened to me for a little bit but I find that a strong menthol will bring it back.

Anyways, I usually clean my atomizers on a daily basis. Even if an atomizer is only used for a few days. It can build up some gunk on it pretty fast. So, that's why I made my suggestion. Actually still have my ego-t atties that are 5 months old now and still use them on my VV box mod sometimes. Works just like the first day I had them.

Properly cleaning Ego atty's , can be a real hassle . You can try soaking them for several hours in very hot water , or better yet , vodka , or any strong alcohol , such as everclear , etc . Agitating occasionally , then blowing out the excess fluid , and letting them air dry on a paper towel overnight . A better choice would be to switch to cartomizers . They have Ego specific carto's out there , but anyone's LR carto's work great on Ego's . Oh , and welcome to the ECF .

IMO i really dont like the ego-t attys. To much fiddleing IMO. Since your a new vapor if i were you i would go the cartomizer route. Very easy to use and cheap to buy... Get some boge 2.0 ohm cartos and you'll be in vaping heaven! Good luck! BTW i agree with everyone else im sure your atty needs a good cleaning. Try some cheap vodka and soak them for an hour or so and then blow them out! Hope this helps!

How do I know if a juice leaves sediments? For now tho at least I am using my spare 510-t and soaking my other atty in rubbing alcohol for a couple hours like suggested above. Rubbing alcohol was all we had in the house haha.
The new atty/tank have a lot of resistive drags and a ton of flavor, throat hit and vapor. I also noticed a slight burnt smell in the old one. Looks like the wick or whatever it is on the middle of fhe spike is burnt. Is it dead or will this alcohol bath bring her back?

Once again thanks to anyone who can help as well as those that already have.

You can't tell until a juice arrives. One member has this test. Heat a piece of aluminum foil. Shake up the juice and drip a couple of drops on the foil. After the liquid sizzles away, if there is a bunch of "slag" (dried cooked residue) left behind, it will do the same to your atty or carto.

And just from looking at a juice, if it is not totally transparent or if you can see specks of color in it, it may have residue. The less transparent it is, the more likely it will drop more residue. Dark non-clear juices are often the culprits. But I have also had some pretty light ones that dropped more residue than I like. My fave juices are only colored by the nicotine and without nicotine look almost like water. I don't mind a light amount of residue. But I want my cartos to last a week or longer with a good drag.
