Qstns on REO Flooding, Atty's, Juice

Hello, I've been vaping for over a month. I started with the V2/cartos and a couple days ago became the proud owner of a REO mini. I ordered a LR 510 and a LR 306 atty with the mini -- using the atty's is new for me (I'm using them with a drip tip without a cartridge). Now I have questions.

One issue is I'm still trying to fine tune my squaking method of getting the juice to the atty without flooding the atty. I don't know if it's the juice, the atty, or me.

The only two juices I have at the moment are Johnson Creek's Tennessee Cured and Vapor4Life's WowCowboy. I seem to be having much better success of not flooding the atty with the WowCowboy. When trying to use Johnson Creek, I either don't get enough juice to the atty and get a burnt hit, or flood the atty and not get any hit. I've read on the forum about different methods of using the Reo, but does anyone else have issues (or know why I have issues) with Johnson Creek's juice?

I've only used the 510 atty with Johnson Creek and the 306 with Vapor4Life. Is the 306 more resistant to flooding? In getting over my learning curve I also got a very burnt hit early on with the 510. Can one or two dry hits be enough to kill an atty? If an atty only provides a burnt hit, does that mean it's shot? Do you hit the atty until you get a slightly burnt taste and then squak or is that too late? What's the difference between a 510 and 306 (I haven't had much success with the 510 to be able to judge the difference between the two)? I also ordered 510 cartos but haven't tried them on the reo yet. Do I just squak the reo to wet the carto? Do I keep squaking and sucking without pressing the button to get a bunch of juice into the carto and then vape?

Sorry about all these questions, but I'm a little frustrated and just trying to figure this thing out. When I'm getting good hits off the reo, I LOVE it! I just need to figure out how to consistently get good hits and how to use the atty. I ordered six or seven 3ml sample size 50/50 PG to VG juice from Goodejuice to try. I don't know if that will help, but any feedback/suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanx!

As soon as you get enough I think 5 posts, go to the REO forum and get lots of great ideas and help. It is here: Reos Mods

For now, lets see what we can have you do. Atty's are a learning curve by themselves. With a REO they can give you a great vape. Let's start off with the squonking. It should only be a light push on the bottle. It is best done when drawing slow and light on the atty. Listen for a little gurgle, and some resistance as the juice moves into the atty. First little gurgle stop squonking.
Firing your atty and drawing works best with a slow and easy draw. There should not be much resistance, so no need to suck like you are trying to bring a thick milkshake up through a straw.
You will need to squonk again when you just start to taste the flavor drop and the vapor lessens. To many draws and you will get the burnt taste.

With a new cartos I drip some into the top first. Then give a small, light squonk while drawing to move some more juice into it. After that you can tell when the vapor drops off when you need to squonk.

Juice can be thrown in the equation also. The thicker juices need more time to move up the tube to feed the atty. I use only 100% VG and have no problem with attys and cartos on my REO's.

Hope this helps you some. Keep posting and vist the Reonauts, on their forum.

Congrats on your REO purchase, I know you will get this worked out and be one very happy vaper!

You really ought to try using carto's , rather than atty's . No learning curve , seldom flooding issues . Put on a LR carto , squonk until you see a little juice , give it a quick (no fire) suck to distribute the juice , then vape away . Both my wife and I tried atty's on our Rio's , and now both use carto's . We are much happier .Carto's also last a lot longer before needing topping off . Give it a try , and welcome to ECF .

If you are using a 510, squeeze lightly until you just begin to see a glimmer of juice in the holes of the overflow well. When you release, it will disappear. Short unpowered hit, and you are good for 5-8 nice vapes.

For a 306, the "blind squonking" method works best. Squeeze the bottle lightly and suck on the drip tip until you feel a small amount of resistance or hear a light gurgle. Short unpowered hit. If you have a clear drip tip, you should just see a sheen of liquid on the top of the atty. (If it is half-way up the bridge/mesh or more, it's flooded...blow it out). Also now good for 5-8 nice vapes.
