Yes, You can run quad coils at any wattage, vapor production and quality will vary depending on wire used. Steam-engine.org will help.
Depends on the overall resistance and coil mass of your build whether or not 50 watts is enough.
That being said, you can absolutely build a quad coil atty that capes the way you want within the limita of a 50 watt device, you are just going to want to use a light gauge wire to keep the mass down. Four two ohm coils will give you a half ohm atty, given the output range of a 50 watt mod this should give you a good range of voltage adjustment to get the coils reacting how you want. For quad coils at 50 watts, 30 and 32 awg kanthal are appropriate.

Do 3/2s for each coil, put your goggles on and right before you hit the fire button shout out "FIRE IN THE HOLE!"
I find attys with the 4 post design makes it a little easier to build quad coils. Like a plume veil or atty cubed
It isn't any harder to build quads on a. Three post, if anything I find it easier to get things set up. A three post atty facilitates twinned quads.
The biggest advise I can give for building quad coil atties is get your positive leg measurement down first, if your positives are the proper length, positioning the coils and locking down the positive post will make it easy to ensure your coils all heat evenly by adjusting the negative leg length. The coils generally don't interfere with nippers at the negative posts like they do the positives.
