Im tryin some new stuff to see what I like best... I just got this 510 atomizer in the mail with a drip tip, put about 5 drops in it, nothing. Tried a couple times, got a little bit of burnt smelling vapor with no flavor. Kept vaping got nothing. Dripped a few more drops, got some more vapor, not more than I get from an ecig. And it totally smelled burnt. I was vaping on a VV at 3.7.

Usually it takes 6-8 drops to get a 510 atty going if it has a bridge. Add some more. 2-3 drops after that to keep it going. Worse case you flood it and you can blow it out and try again.

New attys also can come with primer in it, which is usually no flavor. They also sometimes need breaking in. THey should never taste burnt. I'd recommend blowing it out completely first, then add 6-7 drops and try again.

What is the resistance on the atty? If it's a 1.5 to 2.0 you should be getting good vapor, over 2.5 and it could be pretty lame vapor.

I dont know what the resistance is, I was trying to find out...I got it from thevaporstore, it doesnt say on my sheet or in the item description on the site, just says joye 510 atomizer, so I really dont know. So you can just blow the juice out and start over? Does it need to be washed or anything? I dont even know whats down in there or how it works...

I always wash new attys for sanitary reasons, but if it has primer in it you really should. Yes blow from the bottom into a paper towel and see what comes out. If you wash it in PGA or vodka, it will dry fast and you can use it right away. If you run it under hot water and blow it out well, the juice will taste watery for a bit until it clears.

If it is an unmarked standard atty, it's probably 2.0 or 2.5

Though vodka will clean an atty its best to use rubbing alcohol. Vodka has high amounts of sugar, and sugar is a breading ground for bacteria. I soak my attys anywhere from an hour to over night. Running it under hot water helps the clear out the taste of alcohol the rubbing alcohol and vodka leave behind. There is some awesome stuff from Fusion Vapor called flavor eraser. Drip 5 drops into the atty, let it sit for 30 seconds, blow it out and it erases whatever flavor you had inside. It works really well, and it will also erase the flavor of alcohol better than hot water. Plus your not left with that watery taste that can take some tome to clear out. Flavor eraser is great, but you don't absolutely need it. Sometimes the best way is to blow out the juice, add a few drops of the new juice, blow it out, and your ready to drip.

Always know what resistance you are using. With a 3.7v device there are no attys on the market that will cause any damage. But say you were using a high voltage device, and used a low resistance atty you will most defiantly destroy the atty or potentially burn your mouth. I'm glad your dripping though. Many people are too lazy to drip, but the flavor is worth it. Once you get the hang of it you can produce good clouds of vapor. Want a helpful tip. Out of all the attys I have used I find the 901 low resistance work best at 3.7v. Especially on a mechanical device. I don't know why they just do. 901 is a different threading than 510, but all you need is a 901 to 510 adapter and your ready to go, and their cheep its a really tiny adapter that goes on the bottom of an atty, it makes it look just like a 510. Go to this address (thecigstop.com) and you should find more than you need as far as online stores to get a good setup.

You have to let it completely dry overnight if you use rubbing alcohol or you could poison yourself. If he adds juice right away and starts vaping the little sugar in the vodka wouldn't last long enough to do any harm. The PG/VG will keep the bacteria away anyway.

Rubbing alcohol also tastes really nasty.

While it's soaking, blow it out and put it back in the water a few times. It will get fresh water to the wick faster.

It's a new atty, so you don't have to soak it long. When happy with it just shake it out, blow it out, probably best to do both directions. You could pulse the button a few times to get the leftover water boiled off, but there is a risk of popping the coil and rendering it useless. No risk to just adding juice and putting up with watery taste for a few minutes. It will wick better wet too.

Any sign of burnt, stop, add juice. No taste once you get going is when you redrip.

When you get to the point of a dirty atty from vaping, it's always best to blow from the battery end so you don't force chucks of juice char down into the air holes and wire compartments. When it's new you can do both ways without worry. It's not a bad idea to blow out your atty at the end of the day for maintenance and refill in the morning.

should you clean or rinse after use ? like if you're gona put it away for a couple days

If you think they need it, like if they are dirty and gunky, otherwise you don't need to clean them. They last longer if you don't let them dry out, so some people put a drop or two of pg/vg on them before storing. I'm lazy - I blow out extra juice (if there is a lot), but leave whatever the last flavor was in it to store. I stick a carto condom on the end if I have one or just wrap it in a little plastic wrap. Altoid boxes are good for storage.
