Question about chargers!

I'm back with another question!

I've been reading today about how important it is to use the correct charger with your battery.

Last night, I ordered the Etched Dragon Battery from TheVaporGirl.com and bought a charger from DiscountVapers.com. The battery is sold by itself and the description says it's an eGo style batt, so I bought a charger that says it's good for eGos. Is that fine? Or will it blow up and kill us all!?!

Also, I was looking at TheVaporRoom.com and was interested in buying a eGo battery that is on clearance. Like the etched dragon batt, I mentioned before, it's just the battery itself. So would it be OK with the charger I already bought?

In general, how do I know when buying a battery outside of a kit which charger is OK to use?

Pretty cool battery. You should be fine with that charger. The output is 420ma, which is significantly lower than the mah rating of your battery. It's a 4.2V output, which is what lithium batteries take. As long as it the threads are physically compatible, you should be fine. The circuit that stops the charge is in the battery, not the charger. The situation you want to avoid is having a charger that exceeds the mah rating of the battery. That's why the charger page says not to use it with 180mah 510 batteries. Ideally, you want the mah rating of the charger to be 1/2 or less of the mah rating of the battery. The vaporroom battery is 650mah, not ideal, but not a real problem. It will charge faster than I personally prefer, but it won't explode or anything. The output voltage should be 4.2V and the polarity must match.

If I was going to get the clearance battery from TheVaporRoom.com What would I need to buy to be able to use it?

I thought I understood this last night, but the more I'm reading the more I'm realizing I just don't know.

I bought these clearomizers thinking that those plus the batt plus the charger and some eliquid would complete the set up. Am I correct with that?

Yep, that's all you really need. If you use a smaller regular size carto you might want to pick up a cone, just for the aesthetics, but the battery, charger, juice and the clearo is all you need.

As you can see in that chart, with the exception of the VGO charger at 5V, they all have a 4.2V output. The only differences between them is the mA output, which ranges between 150mA and 500mA. That just means that some will charge faster than others. The one you selected is shown in the upper left corner and will work with all the eGo batteries.

Thanks for the clarification. All the numbers can be confusing and overwhelming to a new user like myself. I think I am starting to get it though.
