Short answer is that the
batteries do not need to be left in the charger, and there is some evidence that leaving them in long term may degrade performance. When the light is green on your charger, the battery is charged and no current is flowing to the battery. Lithium Ion batteries do not trickle charge (despite what some e-cig distributors instructions may indicate). A charged battery should hold its charge very well with little loss of power; around 10% after a month is the number I have seen posted. Most of us rotate between several batteries, so one is always charging, but with a battery lasting 3-4 hours, one never sits in my charger for more than a day.
