I am relatively new to the vaping community. I have been enjoying the experimentation process. Before I started on this forum I bought a Blu and was not happy with it. I found it lacking in taste and vapor production. I have since moved on to a GoGO mainly because of the price and the long lasting battery. Being that I have been try new liquids, I did not want to fill the cartomizers with a liquid that I didnt like, so I bought a 510 adapter from discount vapors. I was planning on buying an atomizer but found a clearomizer from discount vapors and figured I would try one. At first the taste out of the clearomizer was very good, but I have noticed that I have been getting a burnt taste out of it latley. I also have a passthrough that is variable voltage. I can put the same clearomizer on the passthrough vaping at 3.7v and the burnt taste does not seem to be as strong. I was under the impression that the GoGO was also running vaping at 3.7v. I was hoping someone could help me with a possible solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What PG/VG juice are you using? And what ohms clearomizer did you buy?
In general reservoir cartos like 30% VG or less though some thinner 50/50's may work
And the CE2 clearomizers sometimes have to be modded because the inner seal can pinch the wicks or something. Never done it myself. One of these might help but the last one is in German (though it does show enlarged notches)

I just want to thank you for the info. I am using a 70/30 PG/VG mix. I tried finding out what the ohm rating was on Discount Vapors site, but they did not have the ohm rating listed. I will try some of the tips in the video and repost. Thanks again!!
the "LiL Vape Reviews" that dormouse posted helped a lot for me - if i'm vaping heavily though it helps to tip the tank back to get the juice up toward the wick - seems like the wick dries out quickly...... using 2.4ohm ce2 - 80/20 pg/vg mix - 808d1 batt
Can you provide a link to where you got these from? Usually a burnt taste in CE2 Claeromizers is associated with poor wicking. A 70PG/30VG eliquid is what I've been using in a clero with good success. The other thing affecting wicking is that the cup seal is pinching the wicks and starving the coil of juice. There should be 3 seals on top: the mouth piece, a thin seal that looks like a silicone washer and the cup seal. I remove all the seals from the top and only use the middle seal with the groove side down and a drip tip.
How long have you been using it? Some liquids can taste burnt if the coil is too gunk-ed up. I clean my clearos every 2-3 days. To clean them follow these steps:
- remove all seals from the top.
- screw clearomizer on the battery.
- gently remove the tube by pulling up and wiggling back and forth.
- wash the wicks by dipping in distilled water and dry them by patting with a paper towell.
- with the clearomiser on the battery, dry burn the coil by activating the battery for 5 seconds. Wait 5 seconds and repeat until the coil looks clean and there is very little or no smoke coming from the coil. The coil will get red hot but will not burn is you only use 5 second bursts.
- rinse the coil, dry and reassemble.

Thanks stef64 for the advice. I have only had the clearomizer for 2 day and have been using it sparingly. This clearomizer does not look like most of the ones I've seen. I probably should have opted for a different brand but was ordering some adapters for my GoGo and figured I would try one. There is a washer that sits just above the wick and then another that fits into the mouth piece. When you place the mouth piece into the cylinder, it pushes against the center tube. I havent tried anything yet, but since I am not working today I will try some of the instrucions and let you know how it went. Thanks again!!
Clearos are fickle (manufacturer's fault) but I do like the darn things. The ones I got are second edition and the first thing I learned was that they pretty much have to be modded: BD syringes (manufacturer tubes crack) and trim the wings of the silicone piece so they wick better.
There were several that I gave up on because of the burnt taste. I drug them back out when I got a VV. Even though these are all suppose to be the same, I've had to adjust the VV but after I do, the burnt taste is gone.

I am very grateful for everyones advice. I took apart the clearomizer and realized that the bottom washer was not seated correctly. It was pinching the wick and not allowing the juice to flow. I put it back together and its working great!! Again thank you so much for your help!!
IMO the flavor is far superior to anything that uses polyfill (cartos and atty/cart combos) and event the eGo-T atomizers. It is similar to the flavor you get from dripping into an atomizer.
The Visions are larger and have a different seal on the top. My instructions were for the CE2 Clearos. To improve wicking on the Vision you can pull the seal up a bit to give the wicks more room. You can also remove the cup seal and, with an Exacto knife, make the wick opening a little bigger. You can clean them the same way I described cleaning the CE2's.
does removing the extra seals cause problems with leaking or sucking up juice? Also, do you fill them more then you did before that?

If you hold the PV upside-down (batt up, CE2 down) or horizontally for an extended period there will be some seeping into the cup/coil. This comes from the wick slots in the cup: the middle seal does not cover them completely, hence the improved wicking and the seepage. Under most circumstances I get very little seepage, and when the atomizer gets flooded I just remove the CE2 from the battery and blow the excess out. There is not enough seepage to cause juice-in-the-mouth if using a regular drip tip.
Just to update. I continued to vape on the Vision clearomizer after I reseated the bottom washer.At first, everything was great. It was a little long and had the normal modification tips but it also had one tip that I found very helpful. On the bottom of the lower rubber washer he shows where it seals against the coil cup??(if that is the right terminology)and how in some cases it seats up against the coil itself. When I took a better look at mine, I could see where it was singed, which is what I think was causing the burnt taste. In the video he shows how to cut part of that seal out. After doing this, I have found that it eliminated any burnt taste. I have been vaping on it for the last hour and still have not noticed any difference. I hope this information can be helpful to someone. Thanks!!
