So, if I were to attempt it, would an 18mg nicotene solution (18mg Nicotine solution - 120ml)

And a flavor (Energy Drink Concentrate (TFA))

Be essentially all I would need?

What else do you guys use that would be helpful? I know I'd need more bottles, probably some sort of syringe with ml's labeled, etc. But is that really it?

as long as you want only that flavor and either 100%PG or 100%VG liquid. You will dilute the nicotine strength by adding flavoring. I vape at 3 or 6 mg/ml so I- for an example- buy buy 100mg nic in 100%PG and Flavors are 100% PG and mix with VG.

To get the proper nicotine ratio use an ejuice calculator - e-Liquid Calculator :: New recipe < like this.

I have bottles in various sizes (to make tiny test batches and then once approved big bottles) Several of each of 4 syringes in 1ml, 5 ml, 10ml and 30ml. Graduated cylinders and about 50 flavorings and additives. Gloves, eye wear, amber bottles to freeze nic in, etc.

You could realistically make an eliquid with nic in pg/vg a syringe and a flavor - but if you aim to make 18mg/ml nic or any ratio other than a 100% then you will need to buy a stronger nic base to support dilution. (plus PG or VG if desired to change 100% ratio)

I found the easiest is ecgigexpress. They have premixed batches with nicotine in it. After adding flavoring you will dilute the nic a hair, but only about 1 maybe 2 mg. I don't see it as a big deal since i vape normally at 6 and with flavoring im at 4.8-5.1mg. Besides i vape a lot so 1mg really doesnt make a difference to me.

I still feel too noobish to venture outside of the new members forum.

Don't worry, people on those other forums are often new vapers too - and not many of them bite. There is a bunch of information on the DIY forum, everything you need to know - it's worth a read even if you don't post. I don't think I have ever posted in that forum, yet it's one I visit almost on a daily basis.

Oh the fun you will have making your own juice. Its been 18 months since I've bought any juice from a store. READ READ and READ it all again before you start. Once you do and understand the mixing its really pretty simple and much much cheaper.

I see. I'm planning on starting the simplest method which is going to be adding flavoring to a pre-diluted nicotene base. If it's within a mg or two oh well. It's much less than ordering it from anywhere else. I'll have to look up a beginners guide somewhere. Thanks everyone!

in a warehouse buried near Univille SD
    at 15% flavor
    119ml of 18mg nic base
    +
    21ml of flavor

will give you 140 ml of 15.3mg nic

if you want to stay at 100% pg you will have more flavor saturation
if you stay at 100% vg you will have more vaper and less flavor saturation

you can order 120ml of pg nic base and 120 ml of vg nic base to get to 240ml of 50/50 pg/vg

but then you will want to get enough flavoring to do 280 ml (or go crazy and maybe order a second flavor)

working with 18mg nic is basically pretty safe but you still do not want children or pets to be able to get into it (ie: don't mix when kids or pets are around to cause distractions and possible spills)

    hope this helps

    DIY GUIDE

May seem overwhelming at first, but I learned everything I know in that forum.

Well, if you don't mind 50/50 PG/VG there is an easy way.

Order the base in DOUBLE strength. Plus either VG (if PG based nic) or PG (if VG based nic). Then, cut it with either PG or VG + flavorings. Just fill a bottle 1/2 full of base, add flavoring and the "other" base to cut it to a full bottle. Shake well.

You'll end up with 1/2 strength (your target) 50/50 PG/VG flavored. Or close to it. The flavoring counts in the cut though. It can be ordered in PG or VG or maybe you just ignore the diff and end up with 55/45 or 60/40 (40/60) whatever.

Of course, there's logical variations on the theme. If you had 50/50 pg/vg double strength nic base...and cut it in 1/2 with PG, you'd have 75 pg, 25 vg. Etc.

A good way to start DIY with few mistakes is to purchase from one of the suppliers that sell their pre-mixed flavoring.

Quite a few do this and the work is done for you. Of course if you're going to use just a single flavor, purchase the flavoring and do it yourself. But several sell the flavoring for more complicated 3-4 flavoring mixes.
