Ok so I have seen all the vaping charts about what ohm atomizers to run at what voltage. I have used a 2.3 ohm single coil on a 3.7 volt mod. I was not happy with the vapor production so i bought some dual coil 1.5 ohm atomizers. i have been very happy with them. i am trying to find out how many watts its making. Is there one of these charts for dual coil atomizers or just single coil charts? Or does anyone know off the top of their head how many watts it is making? 1.5 dual coil on a 3.7 volt...

A 1.5ohm dual coil contains 2 x 3ohm coils for a total resistance of 1.5 ohms. The formula for the wattage is the voltage squared/resistance.
3.7 x 3.7 / 3 = the watts.
13.69 / 3 = 4.56 watts.
You have two coils, consuming 4.56 watts each.

Understand that applying 4.56 watts to two coils will not vape the same as applying 4.56 watts to only one coil.
If you were to do the math figuring 1.5 ohms, the watts would be 9.12 watts (or 2x4.56), and in the real world of vaping the experience realized is somewhere between the two wattage figures when using a dual coil.

I haven't tried a dual coil yet, and I the math isn't the tricky part, but I do wonder about the performance. Is it necessary/preferable to use a dual coil for certain juices or flavors?
Guys thanks for the help. I didn't realize 2x3 instead of just 1.5x2. So I guess 8-9ishis watts is my sweet spot. It just took about $75 worth of atomizers and this post to figure out what I like. Inside English I just threw in a cisco 1.8 ohm single coil and it feels identical. If it helps the battery life I think single coil is better.
When I first started I thought Dual Coil Cartomizers would be the best and was sorely disappointing. I switched to single coil cartomizers LR cartomizers and found them much better. Over all what I've heard from quite a few people is single coil is just better, dual coil sounds better but isn't.
