Hello, I am a noobie and have asked a couple other noobie questions and got awsome answers!!

I really know nothing about this other than what I have had answered so far and read on my own,

I was wondering about filling carts with the liquid. how much do you put into one? I know you can get like 5ml-30ml bottles but how much of that do you pou into the cart?

ALso i was wondering when i buy a bottle of flavoured liquid (this one for example Caramel Mocha) Is that all i need to pour into the cart or is there mixing involved?

Thanks!!

We were all noobs not too long ago (me a month ago!)
You can drip it into the top after you pull off the little white cap. How much it takes depends on the size of the cartomizer. 18 or so drops for the standard size.

My preferred method is to fill up the little rubber cap that comes on the ends of the cartomizers. I take the white cap off. Then I fill up the cap 3/4 way with juice. Then I slowly push down on the cartomizer, which sucks up the juice. It takes about 2 fills for a new small carto, and 2 1/2 fills for a new large one.

If you really mean cart (cartridge) you add juice until it looks damp

If you mean cartomizers aka cartos, this is how I fill 1ml standard stuffing cartomizers

---
When I fill the first time (and whenever adding a lot of juice) I hold tissue against the threaded end hole of the carto. Tilt and drip in 18 drops (per ml capacity of the carto) slowly (wait after the first few which may take longer to soak in). Then I wait 15-20 seconds. Then I see how many more drops the stuffing will soak in easily.

Then I do cleanup of the threads, then tilt open end down into a tissue and puff into the threaded end hole to make sure the air channel is clear, then while still pointed down I touch soft tissue to the top of the stuffing to sop up any excess (helps prevent leaks).

Then to settle it I let it lay on different sides for 15-20 minutes to spread the juice to every area of the carto. 15-20 minutes is more than enough settling with the thin juices I use. Only the first fill needs some settling time (to make sure every bit of stuffing is damp).

As I vape, I keep it damp. If the vapor seems light or dry or tastes even a tiny bit off or if the carto is getting abnormally warm, I see if it could use some juice. And you can also check the top of the stuffing - if it has gone white you could probably add a bit of juice before heading out or putting a new battery on it etc.

I use thin juices, PG w/ 20% or less VG and a couple of Vapor4Life WOW juices. If I get a juice that drops a lot of flavoring sediment, I find a different juice.

For my cartos I basically start with 12-15 drops till the poly looks real wet.
Then I shake it down just like you would with an old thermometer (make sure the rubber end cap is on the battery end!) After this the poly looks almost dry/white again, I can usually get another 10 to 15 drops again.
One more shake down and maybe 2 to 4 more drops after that.
There is usually a little drop of liquid in the battery end inside the rubber cap, a quick wipe and done!

Before learning this, I would only get maybe 12 drops in, and my carto's would go dry really fast and sometimes burn the poly. I was going through 2 -3 cartos a day. Now one lasts me all day!

Good luck!

Most e-cigs can use either a cart and atomizer (older technology) or a cartomizer (newer technology with both the cart and atomizer built into one). When you shop around be careful, the first time I ordered replacement "carts" I meant to buy "cartomizers" and had two pre-filled boxes I could not use as I did not have an atomizer.

I would def buy some cartos. They work alot better than cartridges. They hold more juice so you can refill less often and are alot more consistant. And for juice, be careful if you ever order juice from the US. Any packages with nicotine in it you risk getting it seized at customs. Id prob just order from Canadian vendors if you can so theres no hassle.
And by the way, I know this is way off topic, but is that a picture of you? If so, you look almost identical from a girl I used to date. Its alittle scary actually, ha. Even had a tattoo on her arm in the same place. She was kinda crazy though, and didnt live in Canada.

The whole theory behind the cartomizer is you get a fresh atomizer every time you swap out. The atomizers get clogged up over time, so it is just so much more convenient to have them all in one, refill several times then toss away when no longer useable (anywhere from 5 to 20 refills depending on juice, quality of the carto, etc) some people even boil their old clogged cartos and re-use them again and again. Plenty of you-tube vids out there explaining how to clean cartos.

Re carts and cartos - most popular models can be used either way but most people switch to using cartomizers.

Some models like 510 and Ego are sold as a 3-piece with atomizer+cartridge or tank atomizer+tank cartridges and most owners end up using cartomizers instead.

Some models are sold as 2-piece models with just battery and cartomizers. But on a sealed manual battery many will use an atomizer and drip tip when they want to test new juices and samples without dirtying a cartomizer (dripping is not recommend on auto batteries but somebody with an auto or unsealed manual can use an atomizer and cartridge to test juices)

Blu dumbs it down like some other 1-model vendors and calls them cartridges or carts.

But when you go shopping at a multibrand vendor or post questions here, you should call or shop for cartomizers by their correct name or "carto" so people will know what you are asking about.

If it holds liquid AND screws right onto the battery then it is a cartomizer which is a cart with a built in atomizer coil, thus cart-omizer

To further confuse matters, Blu's original model was sold with atomizer and cartridges, and they switched to selling it as a cartomizer model instead.

I think you bought the right thing - Boge 510 SR (standard resistance) cartomizers. I use those too.

So does it just depend on which type of e-cigg you have whether a cart or carto is used? I was trying to figure it out by reading up on what they both meant.

It is really just personal preference. I started with atty's (atomizers), then to tanks, and now carto's (cartomizers). IMO the atty's, are good for taste testing juice using the dripping method. The tanks hold a lot of liquid and are good if I am going out for a while and will not be able to refill easily but I have noticed some flavor loss with tanks. The carto's are working well for me now, they have a good vapor and good taste. I actually enjoy trying out the different methods and hardware although it does burn up some cash. Better than spending it on analogs, much better. :vapor:

Couldn't agree more, although I have yet to try out any tanks. I have a spare atty laying around for taste testing, but for ease of use and best vapor production/flavor I rock cartomizers. Fill a couple, toss 'em in your pocket along with an extra battery, and you're set for a whole night! Start to notice a dropoff in performance, BAM! Slam on a new carto or swap out your battery and you're back in business!
