Hi all, newbie here, third day on 510 ecig. Still craving an analog but no way am I going back!

Here is my question. I bought a 510 and I filled a bunch of different carts as I worked my way through samples. I am a very light smoker, a few analogs a day was my limit.

So a cart seems to last a very long time, although I can't say exactly as I tend to top them off with a few drops from time to time.

Will the carts (capped of course) that are full hold up well on the shelf for weeks at a time? I realize the fiber will degrade eventually. I'm wondering if I fill a few carts for a business trip if I can leave the liquid at home. And is it OK to just keep topping them off?

I understand atomizers only work so long and I have been blowing them out occasionally and tried cleaning one with the water bottle method which seemed to work ok.

Likewise, I am puzzled way I would want a cartomizer. Other than it holding a bit more, it seems about the same fuss level, or am I missing something?

Thanks again and I really appreciate the answers I have been getting.

Hi and welcome! I'm new too.. Had my Riva 510 SE e-cig since Friday.

I would think, that capped the juice would last a long time. It's thick so it won't evaporate quickly. many people open thier bottles and let them sit in the open air for weeks at a time to "steep" them. These people feel the flavors mix better and mature this way. ( I am not convinced of this)

The filler is poly fill and will take Many years to degrade.. probably more than your lifetime so no worries there.

As little as you smoke, don't buy the cartomizers. Just do what your doing and buy the juice to refill your cartridges. Of course you can, but I don't see where you will gain any benefit. Cartomizers are for those who vape a good bit on a regular basis and don't want the hassle of having to fill the carts so often.. you won't have this problem.

Hope this helps and welcome aboard! Keep at it!

I think you'd do fine with cartomizers. They're handy and they don't leak as much as carts do. With as little as you smoked, you'd only need to fill a few of these and you'd be good to go for a week or so. I say give the cartos a try and see if you like them better than carts. They'll hold up well and as long as you keep them capped when not in use, the juice should last for a couple of weeks or more.

I think it really depends on what type of e-cig you have and the size, model, way it's made etc. My Riva 510 SE does not leak and I fill it to the tip top. I even cut the filler down some and do a few various modifications on it. It has never leaked.

Steve, I have not been vaping very long myself but I knew I wanted a system with as little fiddling around as possible. Also didn't want to carry bottles of juice around in my pocket all day either. I have found that cartomizers are the most convenient way to go for my purposes. (I recently switched from a 4081 carto system to an eGo-type 510 system with higher capacity batteries and love it.) Even the standard cartos hold enough for my moderate daily needs. Fill a couple up with your favorite juices and you are good to go for the entire day. Fill several more and you are likely good for 3 or 4 days. They keep well for weeks if sealed with the caps. Certainly, give cartomizers a try. I do keep a small (5mL) bottle or two of juice in my travel kit or briefcase in case I need to refill for any reason while on the road.

Best of luck staying off the analogs. About 2 months vaping here. Was able to cut way down immediately but took awhile to quit completely. But, I am now happy to report 7 full days with no analogs at all! Was a 1ppd smoker for 32 years. You can do it too!
