Question about liquid and cartridges

Does anybody knows for how long the liquid keeps its quality?.Same for the cartridges.Does the membrane deteriorate?.
I ask this because the mini that I bought came with a few cartridges with different tastes as testers.They were not
properly sealed and they tasted and smell really bad. I feel a hint of that same taste in all of the cartridges and liquid that
I have tried, njoy ,smartfixx ,crown7.e liquid,(specially if I don't inhale) so I think that's probably the propylane glycol.
Anyway, I'd like to know for how long can I use the e liquid, because the bottles should last me a few months.I still smoke a
few real ones every day.Thanks.

E-Cig answered that question (how long does liquid keep) with 'around a year when kept cool' (in fridge). Elsewhere I read: up to two years when kept cold (no reference as to how cold 'cold' was there...).
So what I do myself is: keep for about a weeks usage worth at my desk; and the rest is in the fridge (both liquid and cartridges). The freezingpoint should be a lot lower then what a freezer can get to, so it should be doable without getting ice to even put it in there... so I'll be trying that shortly, first a bit to see if it doesn't get flakey for instance; can only help to keep it usable even longer, in my mind, if that works okay. But fridge for sure works well, been having it in there for months now and all goes well.

As to cartridges that aren't sealed properly: I would be quite careful with those myself. Might have been contaminated somewhere along the route with dirt or whatever. And seeing it was shipped overseas, even gassing of the container it was in would be possible. Don't know what the gasses are; but they sure are bad, lots of stuff here was lately sent back to china because it had been gassed on leaving China and got poisonous through that procedure (bedding, childs toys, etc). So I wouldn't want to use a cartridge that's torn open on arrival myself, unless I could be really sure that procedure was not used on it. (This is not just about china, afaik all countries housing unhealthy insects etc use it. No sweat with sealed or hard-coated stuff; but soft things that can absorb it, thats different, those need to be sealed).
