I have 3
One of these (maybe 1 year old) does not have any power in it, even though it meters ok (4.2)
It just won't fire up my Reo
It act's like its discharged
Is this what happens when they die ? :(

Thanks in advance

I have never heard of that happen Larry. I have had some die. They don't register at all on the meter. Most of my AW IMR's are about 2 years old. Some do not last as long but still meter good.

Have you tried it with a different ohm coil or atty? Are other batteries working fine on your REO?

Silly thing that may make a difference is cleaning the battery ends with 90% or better isopropyl alcohol. Sometimes polishing the battery ends help as well.

I would also suggest cleaning the contacts in your mod, but the other batts work so that is not THE issue.

Hmm - ok, first of all - check the battery casing. Is it dented, crooked, warped, deep dings somewhere? If so, discard it.

Compare the battery to the others you have. Is the positive end different from the others? Maybe bulged outwards a bit? If so, discard it.

If not, check the contact areas, especially the positive contact with the nipple where the firing pin hits. Is it clean, shiny? If not, clean it, use a nail file if there are little welding spots. After that, clean your firing pin tip and put a small amount of Noalox on the positive nipple of the battery. Try again.

If that doesn't work, I don't know what's wrong with it an I would discard the battery to be safe.
