Hello guys i have a question if i am using an aspire atlantis tank with a .8 ohm coil compared to an rda with a .8 coil would there be any difference about how much power it is taking from my battery? thanks :)

depends.

if you're connecting the battery to the item with just wires, then no.

No.
Ohms are ohms
Period

If the question changes so will the answer

not sure if i should be offended by that.....for the record i did my research on rda's for the most part but dont understand wattage fully.... i am using a aspire sub ohm battery here is a link to all the info on it : Aspire - Aspire CF SUB? Battery i am currently using an aspire atlantis tank on it with .8 ohm coils and its working great but the reason i ask this question is because i recently ordered a tobh rda which will be my first rda and i plan on building .6-.8 ohm coils with it. so does this change the answer at all

Do you mean how long the battery will last? It shouldn't change, the same power will be used. You might find that you take shorter vapes because the coil and wick size are larger and you might take shorter hits, thus extending your battery life, but other than that, the power you use is the power you use.

Nope
An ohm is an ohm is an ohm

Didn't mean to offend and not sure how I could.......

Now the question will change here-
Are you planning on single or dual coil?

Resistance draws the same amount of current ohm for ohm at the same voltage regardless of the device asking for it.

But how you spread the resulting power or wattage around will change how everything works.

What I'm saying is .8 ohms on a single coil will produce XXX watts. When you do dual coils at the same resistance the wattage for .8 ohms will now be shared so each coil will now only see half the power. Resulting in the coils not getting as hot.

To fix this you either drop resistance if your mod or battery can handle it to make more power

OR

raise the power which you can't do on a fixed battery.

Just letting you know now, if you make a dual coil setup at .8 ohms and you go well this isn't what I hoped for compaired to my single coil tank-this is why.

Watts laws, ohms laws, any laws, are ridged and do not change based on device. only on setup. That is why I said the question changing means the answer changing. And you only asked is .8= to .8

That Aspire CF is a fixed voltage battery I believe; I mean you cant change the voltage; so
doesn't matter whether you use a 0.8 ohm coil in your tank or your rda, the coil will draw the same power.
4/0.8 = 5 amps
power = 16/0.8 = 20 watts.

use the steam engine calculator to figure out the coil for your rda

Kanthal A1
gauge ----- watt per ohm (per coil) for 200mW/mm2
34 ----- 1.4
32 ----- 3
30 ----- 6
28 ----- 10
26 ----- 23
24 ----- 45
22 ----- 91
20 ----- 182

Also not sure if this matters but the aspire Atlantis is a clearomizer not an rta

Oh; yes that's right; atlantis is a clearomizer.

So;
you have an atlantis, and a cf subohm battery, and you ordered a tobh rda.

So have you ordered any kanthal with that?
