I see many people makeing a the volt mods. I have 2 questions. Can anyone help?

1. On the regulator there is 4 pin. What do each of those pins mean or do. Is 1 positive & one negative. Just not really sure how you know where to connect each pin to.. And yes i have seen the tutorial, just curious what each pin is for.

2. Why do I need a resistor on the pcm going from 1 slot to another. what is the purpose of that??

Thanks for the help

First off, I'm not an electronics guy but I look around a lot before jumping in. I built my first mod today using this 4-pin 5v regulator from madvapes.com. On this model pin 1 is voltage in. On mine it's attached to the switch. Pin 2 is voltage out, goes to the center of the atomizer connector. Pin 3 is the ground, goes to the outside of the atomizer connector. The fourth is a control pin. I've seen it used in conjuncton with a resistor to use a small, low amperage switch. I used a 3 amp switch on mine so I left this pin empty. So far it's working fine.

BTW...I built Sir_Lawrence's brass pipe mod; http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/battery-mods/65392-how-build-my-5v-mods.html. Great, easy to follow instructions.
