The REO is tough to get consistent hits from. If you squeeze too much liquid into the atty, it cools the coil too much and vapor and flavor is reduced. If you don't squeeze enough juice into the atty, the hits will be warm, dry and void of flavor. By filling up a cartomizer and putting it on, you will get consistent hits each time. You then occasionally squeeze the bottle to top the carto off.

What makes it better than say an eGo or Riva with a cartomizer, besides the convenient juice feeding mechanism?

What if you forget to keep the cartomizer wet and end up inhaling the fiber? Isn't that toxic?

sjoat: I also use cartomizers on my Reo's for the same reasons mentioned. Ease of use and less mess than with atomizers. I wear mine on a lanyard and HATE when my blouse gets juice on it! Never happens with a carto.

Gru, is this your experience with the REO? I've not heard this from anyone before. I've had a Reo Grand and a Mini for months and have not had that experience. I use atomizers and cartomizers (Boge) on both of them. Maybe you should get on the Reo forum to troubleshoot or contact the manufacturer. He would have included a business card with contact info with your Reo. I'm not questioning your experience but it seems to be abnormal.

The REO is tough to get consistent hits from.

I had KR8 models before my Reo's. I have used the cartos and Attys. What I like about the Reo when it comes to cartomizers is the convienience. I used to carry 5 batteries, with 5 cartos. I would vape away on them until I got the "marshmellow" taste that tells you your close to burning the carto.

The difference with the reo is that you can consistently feed them and keep them wet. You can run many ml's of juice without ever taking it off the PV. I don't fill multiple cartos every evening, or tons at a time. I also don't carry a bottle to drip top them off. I have run about 15 mls through a carto before it became too stiff, and the taste was off, so then take it off and toss it in the to be cleaned bucket.

I think I know where your coming from with the question, because it wasn't "terrible" filling cartos. I had the same thoughts. But honestly, the Reo won me over. It made it really easy for me, especially with the cartos.

Finally, I did notice a difference when using LR cartomizers in terms of the TH and flavor compared to the higher resistance KR8 cartos.

I hope that helped!

REOS are the most consistant vape I have found hands down. I rarely use cartos, but they benefit from being able to just add a little juice directly into the carto every 10-20 puffs or as needed. No need to carry around a back full of extra's. Atty's are really not THAT hard to master either. There is the preverbial "fine line" between "too wet", and "too dry". Once you can recognize by taste, sound, vapor that happy "medium" it becomes second nature... Carto's are even easier to keep at a happy medium with the feed system...

What is the point of using a cartomizer on a REO mod when the liquid is stored in a bottle in the box?

I wanted to ask this on the REO sub-forum but I don't have permission yet...

Attys can be finicky, especially the 306 -- takes a bit of a learning curve to learn how to use them well.... but the vape it gives is worth it.

Cartos are okay to use -- you fill them and pop em on the REo and you're good to go for like 5 or so draws -- then you need to gently squonk the bottle to refill the carto. I think they deliver flavor nicely too. What I don't like about cartos is that, depending on your juice, and I use 80 to 90% VG, they can get gunked up and only last a few days.

I don't like cleaning cartos or any type of unnecessary maintenance, which is why I am a Reo owner. I like to keep it simple on my reo so it's a LR 510 or 306 - But love Boge 510 cartos for 5v vaping on my Reo Grand. ;)

I find that not to be true at all. Its real easy to get consistent hits. Very short learning curve.

Your favorite carto with 3.7 volts applied to it will give you the exact same vape every time regardless of what pretty package surrounds it or who's name is on it. The advantages of the Grand and the Woodvil are the 6ml bottle and the 18650 battery that could give you 2 full days vaping.

What if you forget to keep the cartomizer wet and end up inhaling the fiber? Isn't that toxic?
I don't use carto's, but I too wonder if the burning fibers are toxic.

The only advantage to a carto for me is trying out a new juice without contaminating my atty with flavor I my not like or isn't my all day vape. Cartos on a REO is fine if thats what you like but its NOT needed to obtain a consistent hits. Since I have owned a REO since their existance I feel qualified in saying that. Btw that applies to other brand quality Bottomfeeders.
