Hey. So I recently got a vivi nova v5. All my other clearomizers died so now it's all I have. It tasted awful but today while using it it suddenly started tasting amazing. Had it for about two weeks and rarely used it. Could it be that it wasn't wicking properly and continued use made it taste better?

Also, it seems to taste a lot better when my ego battery is not freshly charged. If I got a variable voltage battery would I be able to replicate this by turning it down?

Hello :) Look on the atomizer head of the Vivi Nova, and if it's a vision it should show the ohms. If it's the low resistance version, then keep it around 3.7 volts. I like the Vivi Nova and it does take a while to wick. I normally let it sit for quite a while after the first filling or refill after a dry burn. If you're using a heavy thick e liquid, adding a couple drops of distilled water to each tank load then shaking it helps.

In a word, yes. You clearly like your ViVi better at a lower wattage--getting a vv battery will allow you to fine tune your vape to your desired power (strength, wattage).

Wattage = Voltage squared divided by Resistance. Use this online calculator to find your own sweet spot:

Variable voltage is a good thing. :)

All top-coil clearos need to be turned upside down frequently to ensure proper wicking.

Good luck!

I have the Vision vivi nova V2 but from pictures it appears the changes are in the tank more than the inside workings. It sounds as if you're not wicking enough liquid to the coil. I've found that trimming the wicks shorter and unraveling the ends will help, I trim the wick so that it's just a bit longer than the tank is wide, when you replace the tank it will still bend the wicks down slightly.

When vaping the action of tilting your PV to take a draw is enough to saturate the wicks and thus the coil. Fluffing out the remaining wick also will prevent leaking liquid into the airway. Let us know how you make out....:)

I had the same experience as you and like the other guys have already suggested it's the wicking that's the issue.
I find if I let the level drop real low I have to leave it for 10 minutes or so after filling (longer if you a vaping an ejuice with a higher VG ratio) before it tastes good.

And when I first put it on I had my mod set for 3.5V and I got a slight burn taste. I found the sweet-spot for me was about 3.1V but it depends on your individual taste and the juice you're vaping.

When you find YOUR sweet-spot I think it's one of the best clearo's you can get. If I'm not using my RDA it's the one I always go back to.
