I'm pretty sure I know the answer to my question, but being kind of cheap I want to verify it before I take drastic actions. I'm using a Vision eGo 1.6 ML Clearomizer and since buying it about 2 weeks ago it's had pretty regular usage (I'd guess vaping around 2.5 ML a day through that clearomizer). I've only used the one flavor in it and it's always delivered good flavor and amount of vapor. I'm using an eGo C 1000 mah battery that the vendor sold me in their store at the same time I bought the clearomizer.
Anyways this evening noticed it was low on juice so I refilled it from a brand new unopened bottle of the same flavor juice from the same vendor that I always get this flavor from. Immediately I get this nasty taste that is similar, but not as strong, as when I drip into an atomizer and the atomizer starts to run dry. Kind of a burnt taste, well not exactly burnt but definitely unpleasant and similar to the dry atomizer while dripping taste. My first thought was well I didn't shake the bottle before I opened it so maybe the flavoring settled to the bottom so I emptied the clearomizer. Shook the new bottle of juice vigorously and refilled the clearomizer. I got the same result as the first time when I filled it from this new bottle of juice and it tasted nasty. So then I think maybe it needs to steep for a few days to let the flavor get to normal. Then it dawns on me that maybe it's the clearomizer has just died like the lady who sold it to me told me they do. So my final step was I pulled out a brand new clearomizer that I'd bought as a spare for when the original dies and tried that and sure enough now I'm back to my normal enjoyable vaping experience.
So the obvious answer seems to be that yes, the clearomizer I was using must have just hit the end of it's life expectancy since using the same juice in a brand new clearomizer gives me my normal vaping experience. The part that makes me doubt that is that what are the chances the clearomizer would work great one puff and then it dies right at the first puff from a new bottle of juice? The intelligent part of my brain (well, I like to think I have one, but some would argue that point) says it was just a coincidence and throw the old clearomizer away. Then there's the cheapskate part of my brain that says no don't throw away about $7 worth of equipment without asking since you're new to vaping and you'll hate yourself later if you find out you threw away something that was not the problem. So can somebody give me your best guess if the clearomizer just coincidentally died immediately upon refilling or is there something more I should be considering.
Sorry about the super long post. I've always been a long winded person anyways and then to make matters worse I wanted to give as much pertinent info as I could think of so folks would know what I'd tried and also to hopefully avoid anybody having to ask me for missing information. Ok I'll shut up now and lurk to see what you folks with more experience than me says. Thanks in advance!
