As I do not have any measuring equipment I was just wondering how many drops from the regular Bottle equate to a ml? I ask knowing that the size of a drop varies and that the mg associated with juice is associated to 1 ml, and since I can only squeeze 3 maybe 4 drops into my cart and I am trying to figure out how much nic I am using. Anyway any insight would be appreciated.

You will need to measure your drops to have any degree of accuracy. When you have an empty bottle - fill with water. Count the number of drops to fill a 1 ml container. It won't be exact because water and e-liquid have different viscosity.

Some estimate that it takes 25 drops per ml. I find that my droppers give anywhere from 45 drops to 18 drops. That's a BIG difference!

Drop size depends on viscosity of the liquid primarily. The figure of 20 drops/mL is thrown around here a lot. Pure water is about 17.5 drops/mL. I don't use drops, too variable, I use a syringe to mix DIY, measure, and inject into my carts. So I generally only deal in mL, not drops. If you want to really know the nic level in a juice you are making, this is the most accurate way.

Kurt I am using 18mg juice that came with my starter kit. I did fill a new clean cart today (again using the 901) and, using a dropper with measurements) found that the cart would only take just under half a ML so now I do not feel as bad about constantly topping off. I am interested to see how this changes as I am getting juices from ElectroNicStix and StrictleyEJuice within the next couple of days. Thank you for the feedback however, again I love the input from members on this board.

Yep... that is just a very rough estimate. And it is an easy number to work with. But it isn't accurate.

It all depends on how precise you need your measurements to be. If you are creating a small mix of e-liquid... you can use drops instead of ml and be fine in your approximation. That is an easy way to determine if 10% flavoring is going to work in a mix for example.

But if you want to know how much nicotine you are using, the difference between a dropper that gives 18 drops and one that gives 45 drops is going to be huge!

It is probably best to note how long it takes you to use a certain amount of liquid (say 3 or 5 ml) of a known concentration and compute backwards.

go to pharmacy or grocery store that has a pharmacy section - off the shelf get a (baby) dosing syringe or spoon or eyedropper or cup that is marked in ml doses. If you need to ask for help, just say it's for your cat/dog/lizard - no need for long explanations. Wash/rinse and dry before use. Dripping from your eliquid squeeze bottle, count how many drops to fill to the one ml level. Use the eliquid from this container to fill your cartridges - do not pour back into the squeeze bottle (cross contamination).

Hope this helps.

My 510 cart takes about 0.5 mL, but I use the zero-filler mod (ZFM) and so there is no space taken by filler.

I believe someone has done the ZFM on a 901 cart, if you get tired of topping off every 10 hits. I get at least 50 hits before the cart is empty and ready for more.

I smoked a pipe for a couple years & enjoyed the tobacco shops that advised you re: mixing varities. Then I went back to cigs ... :(

Ha, I tried pipe smoking as a replacement... boy did that not ever work! I found myself jonesing for a cig more after the pipe than I was before I smoked it.

.

I smoked pipes for about 2 years and had 0 cigs - then I went on a vacation for 3 weeks and wore nothing swimming suits - no place to carry around pouches, reamers, tampers, cleaners & etc.

I broke down & bought a pack of cigs and went instantly back to my former habit of 10 packs every 7 days! :(

Your best bet would be to buy a syringe. Many E-Liquid and E-Cig suppliers sell them for $2-$3 but you can buy them from most local pharmacies. When I go to the pharmacy I ask them for a 3ml plunger with a 20 gauge needle. Most Pharmacist look at you like "What the hell do you need that for?" but when you explain what you need it for they will usually sell it to you. Its not illegal to sell but believe it or not, if you were a druggy looking for a clean needle they wouldn't sell it. But anyway, because thats not an item they sell on a regular basis (its normally for FLU shots) they will sell it under a generic SKU. My local pharmacy sells the plunger w/ needle to me for 50 cents and each extra needle for 25 cents, you just have to negotiate. Its cheaper and the best part is that you don't have to pay or wait for shipping. As far as measuring ml's a syringe is the most accurate way to measure it. Also, the only reason to buy a different needle is if the one on the full syringe is to small. And while your there, buy like 3 or 4 of them because the numbers wear off after about a week.

This is a very confusing subject for me as well. I received my 510 starter kit in the mail today and have been happily vaping since it arrived. Even though I ordered 5 cartridges with my two batteries and two atomizers I find the vapor production to be significantly less than it was just two hours ago on a new cartridge.

I have a bottle of ECOpure refill liquid, Rich 25mg. Is it safe to just put drops of this into my existing cartridges and puff away? Do I need to be mixing this 25mg potion with another type of liquid, a flavor for example?

I found some helpful things in the medical isle at Toys R Us. I got some syringes without needles and measuring spoons. Generally 10 drops equal 1 ml but some bottles like flavoring have smaller holes and you don't get the same. If your recipe calls for 0.3 mls then that is 3 drops if you have a standard dropper.

I sit the measuring spoon down flat and use the "spoon" end to mix drops and test it with very small quantities. When I get the number of drops to where I like it then I convert it to a larger volume (multiply each by same) and mix a big batch. This has worked great because I mix VG and have to get the batch thinned a little to vape good.

My vaping wasn't going so great until I figured out my VG mixes were too thick. You can test the thinness of the mix by counting how many drops come out ini a minute so all of them will work OK. You just have to be sure not to count the ones at first when liquid may be dripping from outside the dropper. Alternatively you can fill a separate dropper from the top to be more precise - also found one of these at T R US with ml marked. Use someone elses ejuice that works great to get started on how many drops are the best.
