What is the best resistance for clearomizers and cartos to use with the EGO twist? Also, is anyone having issues with faulty vision 2s? When I order them, in two out of five, the posts inside are crooked (not lined up) so the drip tip does not seat on them correctly. Is there any DIY fix for that problem? Thanks in advance for your advice/comments.

Best resistance on the head depends on where you like to vape. With a 3.0 ohm carto for example, you will only be able to push the wattage to about 7.7 (that may very well not be a problem, but bears mentioning). It will be easier on the battery...it's counterintuitive, but higher volts and higher resistance is more efficient and easier on battery life at any given wattage.

With a 2.0 ohm head, you will have a greater range with this particular device: up to about 11.5 watts, and you're not likely to want to go any higher, if even that high. However, at the same 7.7 watts on a 2.0 ohm cartomizer, you're going to be turning the device to about 3.9 volts and using a lot more battery juice (2.4 amp draw versus drawing 1.6 amps on the higher resistance head. Your batteries will last a lot less time at any given wattage.

Hopefully I didn't make that too confusing.

LOL.. Well.... I am still confused. What does the 7.7 watts mean and how would I know what watts I am at? My battery goes from 3.2 - 4.8 volts. Where do the watts come in? Have you ever heard the old saying "you dont really understand something until you can explain it to your grandmother? Think of me as your grand mother... ;-)

I have 3 eGo C twist's! I LOVE THEM!!!! I did take me some time to find the right match for them tho! I have much luck using a single coil 2.8ohm cartomizer when I vape at a 4.0 I also like to use the eGo C atomizer regular resistancy, I can get 3-4 weeks of use out of a head and the replacements are only $5. I hate the clearomizer's, all of them! I only get a week or 2 of use when using the twist. I don't know if it just burns it out faster or if I didn't use a high enough ohm's! I used a 2.4 I think and it was burnt out in no time! My liquid wasn't dark and never let it get low with liquid! Only thing about the twist is one of my battery's last longer then the other 2, not sure if this is a defect or if it's just me! Any higher voltage battery will burn up your liquids faster.

jim...thanks re; the bike. :)

Wattage is the measure of the heat produced that makes vapor. On a single coil device, if you use lower resistance and lower voltage to produce, say, 7 watts of heat, and use higher resistance and higher voltage to produce the same 7 watts, the experience should be the same.

The calculator that bivie linked does the math for you to calculate the wattage and uses color coding to give you a ganeral idea of the amperage draw. That measures the drain on the battery - your Twist has a max draw of 2.5 amps, and I think that's where the chart goes pink (indicating too much current draw) above 2.0 amps. That's very conservative, but nothing wrong with that.

Hi JJ.. I get to FM a couple of times a year. Love the area. Can you explain the EGO atomizer thing to me. How is that different than a clearomizer?

Hey Rick, thanks for taking the time to explain. I will study the chart and try to figure it out. Amps, watts, ohms.. Oh my .. its all Greek to me. Just want to get my NIC!! .... ;-)~ Hopefully in a little heathier way. Tried chew but makes me dizzy and my gf hates it... Running out of options so I hope this nic system works... thanks again

I find that the Ego Vision V2 (some vendors call them V3), long wick, 2.1 - 2.4 ohm clearomizers work great on the Ego-C Twists between 3.8 and 4.0 volts depending on the juice. (The 2.1 - 2.4 are often referred to as low resistance.) I have never had the problems another poster referred to with the V-2's if they were genuine Visions with the etched fill level marks on the outside. The best price I have found at the present time is at MyFreedomSmokes, where they are currently 3.95, or about 3.75 each if you buy a 4 pack. (They do call them V3.) My only issue is that MFS does not yet carry the yellow ones, important to me because I vape a lot of flavors, but they told me they will be getting them soon. I also like that I can clean and dry burn the Visions in about 5 minutes, refill and wait 5 more minutes, and am back to good vaping.
