Question for menthol vapers

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I'm not quite sure where to ask this question. My wife and I are seriously considering buying a kit for my father-in-law, but he is a very long-time menthol smoker. Kool Filter Kings, to be exact. We know he will likely be difficult to convert unless we can find a juice that provides the flavor of his brand of smokes. Anyone know of a juice that might be a pretty good representation of Kool Filter Kings? Thanks!

If you want to make sure he likes it maybe should you get several different juices, that's what I would do. I wasn't a menthol smoker, but Dekang menthol kept me off smokes at first. It really has a good throat hit and punch so I didn't feel I was missing much in those first few critical days. I'm sure there are better menthols, but I would buy some Dekang as well just to be sure.

That's a great idea. Thank you for the suggestion! Hopefully he'll realize that samples are inexpensive, and surely he will find something he likes.

The Halo menthols are pretty good. If you're thinking about a kit, consider one of the 510s with a larger battery, and then some good cartos that will give him plenty of TH without a lot of fuss. If he likes the taste and gets enough nicotine, he might stick to it and want a PV that's less cigarette shaped and will give him an even more solid vaping experience.

If he gets to try halo Coolmist, Truepure and Menthol Ice I suspect he'll find one he likes, from my experience after going through a lot of menthols. Good luck getting him off to a good start!

I just quit analogs...Red Buck Light Menthol (mini-cigars)...4 weeks ago using an Ego T type B and a Mega Dual Coil Atty Tank from MadVapes...the daily juice of choice for me is House Blend Menthol 36mg from Goodejuice...Good Luck to Daddy-in-law! If I can do it so can he...been smoking 1-2 pks for 28 yrs....

I was a 25yr 2 1/2 PAD smoker. What really worked for me was an Ego 1100mah with Boge LR cartomizer. I was a menthol smoker as well and the only menthol that worked for me was a clean heavy menthol with a touch of tobacco flavor. I have tried many different types. The one that has worked for me is Menthol Extreme by Vapors ETC. Hope this helps..

I was a kool smoker and have found that the biggest thing to switch to vaping 100% was the throat hit for me. Kools are harsh so as long as I have that TH I am satisfied.also the nic level is important I choose 24mg all day everyday. HTH

If someone is a Kool smoker, Halo juice is most definitely not a juice that's going to mimic a Kool.

I'd say it's a good quality juice, but not by any stretch would I describe it as a strong menthol which is what a Kool is. Sorry Halo fans, I know you love Halo juice but if someone is looking for an in your face menthol, they aren't going to get that. Some people don't want that. But if they do, they might be disappointed.

My mum (a menthol smoker) recently tried using one of my E-cigs and used a few drops of menthol in the tank...she said it tasted far too much like toothpaste but when I used the same atomiser a few days later with ordinary tobacco flavour, the leftover menthol in conjunction with my liquid tasted EXACTLY like a menthol cigarette.

I know I'm a newbie but it might be worth getting some ordinary tobacco flavoured as well and allowing for the option of mixing up just how menthol he likes it...x

I was a die hard menthol smoker too. Now, I've only been at this not quite 7 weeks now but I have (had) yet to find a good tasting menthol tobacco flavor juice. The ones I've tried are truly horrible. The tobacco aspect of it doesn't taste in the least like tobacco to me. I have had the Halo Cool Mist and liked it but it just seemed like after a few drags the coolness of it was gone and I found myself constantly topping off my carto. Yesterday though I think I finally hit pay dirt! I placed an order last week from Health Cabin (in China) and got the Health Cabin brand Cool Mint. It is awesome! The flavor stays consistent and it tastes great. Not quite pepperminty, not quite menthol....not sure, but I love it so far. I also got Dekang USA green mix (Marlboro Menthol), Salem and Nport (Newport). All of those taste like mentholated soap to me. I have tried just straight Menthol flavors in different brands. Some are ok, some taste like Vicks Vap-O-Rub. So, I would advise in addition to any menthol tobacco flavors you might get him to try some straight up mints and menthols. Give him a variety and see what he likes.

My husband and sister were KOOL smokers and Halo's menthol Ice 24 mg is their go to liquid. So +1 on the Halo!
