Hey everyone!

Just signed up recently on the forum.. I'm currently restricted to posting in other forum sections apart from the New Member's section.. but I was wondering... if anyone knew what to do in this situation...

Basically, I ordered a starter kit, two cartomizer (blanks) and 11 bottles of 7ml e-liquid (no nicotine) to be shipped to my city (HK). It's currently on it's way and I'm waiting for it to get here... I'm slightly worried that I'd have to re-ship or if my package would be seized by customs and never released... there have been myths saying that e-cigarettes are illegal in HK.. which I have found no law to justify this since the legal status of e-cigarettes here (according to wikipedia) is only illegal for e-juice if it has nicotine in the juice...

I'm really worried that the customs would seize my package! This is my first proper vaping kit prior to using eGo styled batteries (I really don't like eGos).. has anyone ever had problems with e-cigarettes and the HK customs? If so, if they seize your package, do they return it to the seller or do they keep it forever? Were you able to obtain it again? I'm not reselling my order by the way, bought it all for personal use!

Some advice and tips will be greatly appreciated! This problem with customs and fuss is making me worried, I posted the same subject on reddit and I was informed that "the chances are the shipment will get through" but it feels like a 50/50 chance rate to me!

My order is being shipped via USPS priority mail international. It's currently in the transit of it's US carrier as of 19/06/15...

Thanks!

I have travelled to HK with e-cigs and nicotine liquid. It is supposedly illegal to sell Nicotine liquid in HK, but there are shops which do so.
I guess what really matters is what will customs do with your order? It seems strange that it would be seized if a non-HK resident can just walk through the airport and not even be asked if their e-cig has nicotine... or maybe there is some tolerance with these things?
Good luck, nonetheless. :)

djsvapour hit it right on the nose. It is illegal to sell, but not to possess e-liquid or to it have sent to HK, among many other places...such as Israel. Customs will do whatever they please to do though, so its luck of the draw...I think its because the law can be interpreted however they choose. They may let it pass since its for personal use, or may confiscate it since they may think you're reselling.
Hope that helps.

Well I do live there locally

And well I asked halo and they said they describe the cigarettes themselves as "personal vaporizers" and the e-liquid is described as "essence".

Hopefully the customs won't seize it.. I'm looking forward to getting my package.. really can't stand the local stuff :p but if foreigners can travel into HK without being seized then I guess it all depends on the customs..

Hopefully they won't snag it.. it would suck to have it re-shipped as that'll take forever, I ordered it on the 18th of June and I expect it to arrive 3 weeks later I guess.. (hopefully)

It's kinda funny that USPS ships them though.. on their site for HK they said that it's a policy that e-cigarettes can't be shipped to HK o_O so I'm wondering if it'll ever even get past the carrier's and stuff. Of course I wouldn't know, this is my first time ordering this stuff online so..

Most vendors that ship to other countries tend to label the shipments as something that won't get looked at too closely. Let us know when you get your items! :D

Yes, please let us know. So what got you to HK?

Been living there ever since I moved with my family from New York and settled here in 2008, it's been 7 years (got my permanent ID) the city itself is great! It's generally a pretty free place, but recently the news about e-cigs keep hitting the news and the authorities want them banned. They have a lot of cheap shoddy imitations of eGo's here that I've tried, I've also tried this disposable shisha brand called "Shisha Time" which tastes pretty bad and runs out of juice after 1 hour... Their most popular shisha disposables are Mist shisha, but even those are ridiculously expensive.. pretty much why I order online from US vendors like Halo... Mist Shisha's cost like $400 for 1 pack of 5 cigs.. sucks..

Well, I hope economic freedom is maintained. The best will out-live the worst.

Keep posting and settle in. People here use gear from around the world and the better stuff gets promoted. I try to read every day.

Glad you are here. Vaping has been good for me.

I agree that economic freedom should be maintained.

I also hope that importing personally from abroad will come through. I'm always eager to try things from abroad prior to the local stuff here.. not too satisfied with the options here

See I've always been skeptical of bigger mods, I much prefer cig-a-likes and they don't have those here that are refillable except for the disposable ones.. I'm in it for the looks, throat hit and vapor production that I can deal with once I'm ready to leave the cig-a-likes. But loads of online reviews have stated that Halo is the way to go! Which is why I've ordered online from their site directly.. the order was processed quick, now just eager to wait for my delivery..

Fingers crossed!

I think the clear majority start at the low-cost, low-tech, and/or low-visible end of the spectrum. Again, the majority move up and find what works for their need/desire. I have found that many posters here are the upper end hobbyists. I am a low end so long as flavor is fairly good. I have lowered my nic 75% and I like vaping my fruity loops.

I'm considering becoming and pursing vaping as a hobbist vaper but at the moment I'm just doing it for the fun, I enjoy vaping when I'm bored. It's always good to have a quick vape before bed or when I'm reading! The combo is great ;)

I've never ordered from overseas...can't stand the shipping time

However, looking at what you posted, it looks like you should get it today. Usually when it says departed that facility (in my town), I get it that day. Good luck!

Currently it's just arrived, it's still in transit after arriving to it's destination country? Does it mean it's on it's way to my front door? That's strange as there's no indication that it's passed the customs or anything? Isn't that what's supposed to happen is that the package passes customs?? It's 10:20PM here so I doubt it'll be here today, maybe tomorrow?

But what I don't get is... why is it still in transit if it's already arrived in it's destination country??

That's what I was saying. Mine will say the same thing when it's on it's way to my door. "Departed champaign, IL" which is where I live.

ETA: I know nothing about the customs part, just what mine shows sometimes when it leaves my local post office. Also, guess it would be tomorrow, didn't realize how large the time difference was.

Oh I see, so it's on its way? Does it mean it's passed the customs? Now I'm excited. It's an international shipment :D I've been waiting a week for this and worrying about it being seized by the customs.. looking good so far though! :D
