The provari was designed to accept a 18490/18500 battery. The 18650 extension was offered as an upgrade for users wanting more battery life to use 18650 battery. The extension is an upgrade for the provari, but is not needed to use a 18490/18500 battery. The 18490 end cap is the one that is offered with the unit.

The ProVari Mini takes a single 18350 battery. With the optional 18490 extended end cap the Mini will accept a single 18490 AW battery.

Hope this helps.

Thanks monster! Or kenny? But, I understand that.. And I see you're an associate. Have you all ever considered that most may like the longer battery life? Maybe the extensions should be standard and the regulars should be optional.

Maybe I'm wrong... But, personally, I see the standard end caps sitting in my drawer.

I like making suggestions... Hope you don't mind.

LOL Perhaps put the list price $10 cheaper, and then have the user choose the end cap they want. IDK just spitballing. I don't think people would be ok paying extra for the standard cap. Personally I have never once needed the extension cap. I use AW IMR 18490's and they last me all day. I vape ~5mL/day @ 2.5ohms @ 5.2v...

Sorry if I wasn't clear. Why not give buyers the option to buy the regular cap OR the extension cap.

Give people the option when buying. Some like having the options. Some know what they want.

You know what I mean?

LOL Yea that's basically what I was saying, although the suggestion I made would be awkward and confusing... You were thinking an extra checkbox for end cap style right under the checkbox for LED color and the rest of the options right?

for those that buy a mini and then use it with an extension cap and 18490's...there is no sense to it, you're better off getting a regular version.... it was made for a size that's better to carry around with less weight and length to deal with at request from a lot of customers.... the regular with the 18650's and an extension cap is another story, but for myself, I own extension caps for all 3 of my 'vari units (one is a mini) and barely use em...

Ditto - I have 3 Provari's each w/ an extension cap. The caps came out of the zip-lock baggie, tested for fit, then back in the baggie. I've never used them. I just like having them 'in case' someday I want to use them.

I've never used the 3 original end-caps either. I got the 'custom' end-caps at time of purchase and that's what I use.

Wow! Cool!

And thanks all! You got me thinking that having the 2 options is good and having the backup cap/spring is really good.

Plus now I'm thinking that the 18500 may just last my wife a decent time (she's a vape stack!) But I have the extension just in case that don't cut it.

But... Still think provape should offer the option of one or the other. That would be nice.
