So I am almost a month in and a flavor may have turned on me. I've read that tastes change but I am curious if this has happened to anyone else.

I was a menthol smoker. I bought the kit w/ a bottle of ice, it was great but I needed more nic. So I bought more; bottle of 24mg burst and 24 mg cartos of burst & ice (needed a bunch for a vacation). I loved burst and it has been my main go to until today.

Today, burst tastes like antiseptic. I am 90% sure it is not the cartos (tried two and they're the same) and it is the same bottle. However, the ice is great. Actually, the ice tastes better than I remember it (lower nic too).

So I guess I am asking the menthol lovers out there: Has this happened to you? Which one do you like? I'm not ready to give up on burst just yet but it was awful today.

I go both ways ( No not like that) and I like the Ice best. I found the burst to be a little flat kinda like a Newport but not quite and the mint just tasted like a lifesaver. I always keep at least 1 Clearomizer full of Ice in my case at all times. You can get a bottle of menthol flavor from several ECF suppliers to spice up your juice. PM me and I will tell you the best I've found so far, I have quite a collection of flavorings as they are dirt cheap and can be added to any juice to perk it up. Best part is you only need a few drops say 5 or 6 for a 30ml bottle so a 10ml bottle of the concentrated flavor will last forever.

Ice Menthol from Smokeless Image was my very first flavor to try. I credit it to help me get off of the stinkies (Marlboro Menthol Lights). Aside from the Classic Grape, it's the only flavor I cared for from SI, and I still vape both to this day.

I found that to "spice" up a weak or flat tasting fruit flavor, that you can add just a little of the ice menthol to improve the flavor. Works especially well in a carto tank or clearomizer/ce3.

I was a 10 year marboro lights smoker 1 to 2 pad. I switched to salem lights in hopes of the nasty menthol helping me quit. Well next 20 years 1 to2 pad of salem lights. I haven't tried any menthol. I have one that is "cool" but not sure it is mentol. All my flavors change on me. It is frustrating. Its been 2 months and flavors keep a changing. I am thinking of vaping unflavored.

I figure a smoke tastes worse, so what do i have to lose.

I was a menthol smoker and ordered both menthol liquids along with the sweet sampler in my first order. I found the ice menthol to be my favorite....until I opened the sweets. I tasted ry4, vanilla, chocolate and watermelon and thought to myself....

What the hell was I thinking all these years?????

I have only been vaping for about 3 months, but I have gone through the taste changes too. First to go was ry4, I still mourn it, but unfortunately it tastes like celery to me now. (I do check every so often, hoping I can go back to it) I got into the fruit flavors and kind of lost interest in the menthol, but I plan to keep it around and mix a drop or two in different flavors for a little punch. All of a sudden vanilla started to taste funky to me too, I am so bummed about it because I really really enjoyed my vanilla!

From all I have read around the forums, this is a common occurrence. Don't worry, but maybe try a few different vendors, just to change things up so you don't get burnt out on the go-to flavor. Maybe try some tingle from virgin vapors, or snow from blue mist, both are taste boosters for me and add the ice to other flavors. Best of luck to you!

No Doubt the key to keeping with Vaping in the beginning is to buy a variety of flavors so you don't get bored. I have about 30 on hand and change almost every tank (X2 Clearomizer). Higher Nicotine helps too if you smoked a PAD or more but after a week or so you can drop down so you don't get a headache when you ChainVape! :vapor::vapor::vapor::blink:

I'm glad this thread was started because I have a question for the menthol fans too. I was never a menthol smoker, other than the 'beggars can't be choosers' ones I bummed off people in desperation, and have only taken a puff or two of menthol cartos in the past.

Couple weeks ago I bought a sampler from Halo that included Menthol Ice. And much to my surprise I really liked it. So I was wondering if anyone else has tried that and could tell me how it compares to the SI version of Ice Menthol. I think it has more cool/mint flavor than menthol, so if they are basically the same then I'll buy some here.

The Ice Menthol is more of a straight menthol, not minty, flavor IMO.

Anyone interested in fruit/menthol combos should try some AltLiquid (altsmoke private label) flavors like Georgia Ice Storm, Apple Frost and other fruit/menthol flavors. I was a former menthol smoker and quickly moved to fruit flavors. When I have taste bud issues, I go to Georgia Ice Storm and it works its magic, plus it is really tasty.

I may be wrong here (hey it happens) but as most all of the less expensive juice comes from China my guess is most of the Ecig suppliers use pretty much the same couple of manufacturers in China. For the prices you can buy direct from China they must be making it for quite a few suppliers and just private labeling it. I'm sure the suppliers have a certain amount of say in the PG to VG ratio but that is also most likely picked from a menu supplied by the manufacturer. My company does quite a bit of business with the Pac Rim countries and most of the products we buy were exactly the same as a lot of our competition's other than the labeling and the boxes it came in. If you think about it it's the only way they could afford to sell it so cheap and also this is a new market so it just wouldn't make good business sense to setup a factory for one supplier. I can tell you first hand when pricing the Nicotine and Base Liquids for my little operation the stuff direct from China is less than half the price for the same products from the USA Labs. I decided to buy from a USA supplier mostly because I have no intentions of starting a business and will be consuming everything I mix so the price was worth it to me so I didn't have to learn to speak Chinese. I called one of the Chinese Labs two weeks ago and spent 20 minutes on the phone and when I was done I had no Idea what had been discussed (hope I didn't order anything). I did find it amusing that they all take on American names to do business with, I was speaking to Bob LOL but Bobby Boy didn't speak much English and I speak no Chinese so it was a rather interesting conversation. BTW, Sally answered the phone and transfered me to Bob in sales, what a panic!!! ... JMHO

Hehe, it's funny you switched to menthols to try and quit. I switched to them very early on, in the first couple of months I started analogs, to keep the other kids from bumming them. After awhile, regular cigs tasted terrible. 20 years later...

When I first started, I got the strong and smooth samplers along with ice. I didn't really care for the tobacco flavors (tho ry4 was ok) probably because I never really smoked non-menthol cigs. Sorry to all the classic grape folk out there, it tasted like dimeatap (sp?) to me. The mint and the two menthols is what I gravitated to immediately.

I am actually working my way through my first sweet sampler right now. So far, vanilla...meh, watermelon is not too shabby.

So this thread has become quite informative, thanks.

Just an update. I cracked open my last burst pre-filled carto just to see if it was my filling technique or the used cartos. Nope...still tastes and smells like something to clean wounds. Ugh, I really liked burst. Oh well, I'll try it again at a later date.

Question about the mentholated fruit thing. Are you adding the extra drop or two to the clearo/ce3 or ar you mixing you own bottle.

Thanks again

I have some 5ml bottles that I use to mix up my 'creations'. I have mixed about half and half menthol/fruit, but have also just added maybe 1 ml menthol to 4 ml fruit or vanilla. Just try to make note of how you mixed it in case you hit something perfect, you will be able to mix it again.

Yep, really interesting here. I was a 40+ yr menthol smoker and here I am with not a tobacco or straight menthol flavor in use!

I have tried just about anything. It is what I get for listening to a drunken buddy while drunk.

I put approximately 10-20 % ice menthol in my whatever-fruit flavor. I'm primarily a carto tank vapor, so I fill my tank about 80% full of my fruit flavor and then add the menthol to the appropriate height in my tank.

If unsure about the amount, especially if you are using a clearo or ce3, start with a smaller percentage of menthol. You can easily add more to get the amount of menthol hit you are looking for.

Obviously, menthol will always be the stronger flavor of any mix. I would think anything more than a 40/60 mix would totally drown out the weaker flavor.
