Ok, I have been reading posts for about three days straight now, Im more confused now than when I started. I built an Evercool boxmod going by the War and Peace length thread started by BigBlue, it works and hasn't given me any issues. Im just wondering what a safe firing range is on it. Seems like an easy thing to figure but I have seen waayy too many answers and none seem the same. I used BigBlues schematic and parts list, except for a 5 amp switch instead of the 3 amp I think his was. Anybody want to enlighten me to where its safe to play with my new toy? Its pretty and I don't want to blow it up. Thanks!

With proper batts in it it will do 100watts, 50 watts is safely inside its efficiency. Its rated for 96% efficiency not at its limit, its limit is "ILIM Overcurrent threshold Reset, followed by autorecovery 16 A" But that halves its life which is since we pulse it longer than our lifetimes..

If you have 14500 batts then it will only do up to your batteries amp limits. Mine I have two different ways built, one on a 300 watt rail and yes it will do 100 watts and stay 'evercool' lol.. The other uses 14500 efest and @ 30 watts they start warming up and drain fast, they do not get hot but warm oh yes..

So to answer your question andyour evercool is built with proper gauge wire either 18-20ga it will do what your batteries will give, but do not over discharge your batteries by dialing in to many amps with too low ohm coil..

The OKRt10 will do 19A they both are badarse chips but become huge batt hogs way out of efficiency so bigger than 50watts you go with a raptor or OKl to get that efficiency back and vape all day on one charge.. But it will do it lol...

1.) Pics or it didn't happen! :)

2.) What batteries did you build it around? If you did a 14500 version, I agree with Visus - your choice of batteries will be more of the limiting factor on how hard you can push it. (You won't find much in 14500 batteries that you can safely pulse drain at 10 amps...) Don't forget too that that chip has it's own over current shut down protection.

BTw it str8 punishes 70 watt coils like butter in the frying pan on high heat, sag loss at vdrop .3 of dialed but that passthru unit has no caps on it so with caps it may be .1 or .2.. lol just testing it; never do I vape that wattage i recently just dialed back to 12 watts and randomly vape 24-30 watts after months of vaping @ 24watts daily but I developed the shakes their gone now but yeah too much vapor is not good for ya--well me, lol it may be the pg IDK, and this is without nic..

It shuts down @ 16A I made that confusing lol

I have loads of pictures on Breaks site lol

Best 14500's are the hard to find Sony's or AW IMR and the Efest IMR V1's, the efest V2's top out at 4A but will do 5A uncomfortably.. AW IMR14500 ... they take a honest 5A and can be pulsed to 7A comfortably and the sony's take 5A str8 off and can be pulsed to 7A but uber hard to find new the are usually sold used with some great reviews and some bad..

If you use standard ohm coils you cannot beat the 14500 trustfire flame 900 protected..

The 08100 Beast and a breaktru4050c next to it she aint purdy but whoa lol
I just hooked up a Belkin 12v 7Ah backup on one of my 08100 passthrus too lol..

Ok heres the almost finished version... 2X18650 VTC5 batteries and Ive got my little IGO-L at 1.5ohms. I figured this was a safe vape until I find out for sure... Im dyin to put my TOBH on this bad boy. I put the batts in yesterday at about 2:30 or so EST and they are still chugging away fine. Oh.. I have it at about 4.25 volts

oops I forgot... I only had 22g wire on hand so that's what Im running but she's still cool as a cucmber

Read the darn data sheet lol in black and white spec'd limit.. Feel the regulator, feel your batts, after trying whatever coil; its batt drain not a reg limitation for anything above 50 watts under 90watts. It will out vape a mech in time units most definitely but still will drain fast after 70watts but not as fast as a mech at same voltage, same watts.. But who vapes 70watts has issues anyway lol..

.... is Evercool

But the Break 4050c vapes better, this gets a solid smooth 9, the breaktru 4050c gets a silky uber smooth solid 20 on 10 scale of Ti mods lol..

BTW niice mod I have 22ga on one of my 14500 units it vapes fine even up to 50 watts but puts more strain everywhere because of the bottleneckin.. I also have a 18ga and 20 ga units and yes it makes a huge difference @ the batts and the atomizer vdrop ymmv..

Its pretty well built reg, if it is overloaded/underloaded it will shut down on its own it has a temperature sensor and wont allow it to ever be used wrong.
Like if i try .5 it will not fire with 14500's but with a sony 18650 etc it will fire all day long.. I can when the 14500's are fully charged vape at 64watts with the 14500's but not chain vape just a few blast before it drains them to sag too low and then it stops firing.. Its a badarse reg but if you like to vape over 65 watts go with a raptor or okl then you stay above 90% efficiency. If you read the efficiency charts it starts to drop after 50 watts very slowly so pretty decent up to 70watts.

I like the 08100 but the OKR t10 IMO blows it out the water, it's a frequency thing.. The OKR and the Ti 4050c both vape at about 600k the 08100 @300k and thats huge in how she vapes from uber smooth like a provari per se' to the hardcore roughness of the 08100 300k, its a beautiful brute..

Awesome

They are all uber simple at these barebone stages. Its the custom units made by EE's and advanced hobbyist that are hella hard. Those units go into pcb design and ohming out each part, writing code, etc etc yeah those are difficult.. I am lucky to be an electrician also heavy r/c guy building mods but electronics are a world apart aside from ohms law and a few common used parts like fuses, caps, mosfets, relays, but we use them differently similar.

Try out the build Break boost 4050c too ya may be able to get a free sample to try it from Ti they are great about that. Use it as a tiny awesome backup it will do 30watts but you have to use a round lipo batt.above ~15watts.
