Question on a 2/3 wrap

First let me start off with some ... kissery. Even though this is an advanced sub forum you guys do a great job helping Newbs like myself and others. I learned so much

Finally after a few tries I have all wraps firing - not hot spots at all
My question is - it takes me 6-7 wraps on 32 gauge kanthal and Nichrome to achieve 1.7 ohm and everyone I mention that too tells me that something is off. With 5/6 wraps I should be way higher than 1.7 ohm. I'm not sure why but ive made many wicks and each time it's a 5/6 wrap or 6/7 wrap to achieve 1.6. It's not that a coil in the wrap is fear. It's firing on all cylinders. My wick isn't that thick since it has to fit through the wick hole on the aga and did clone.

I ordered some 36 kanthal and hoping I can achieve 2.0 ohms in 3/4 wraps. But with my luck 3/4 wraps of 36 gauge will be too high. So it I do a 2/3 wrap will that reduce quality of the vape? Since the wraps has a lesser cover area will it produce less vapor or a TH? I think of less wraps as less hot spots and less coil tweaking but I wanted to know if there are negative impacts on such a small wrap ?

And if you guys have any ideas as to why my 32 gauge takes 6/7 wraps to get 1.7 ohm I'm open to all suggestions. I run a quick lighter to the wire to release tension but that's all

What is the diameter of your wicks? 6/7 wraps sounds like a lot, unless your wicks are very skinny.

Ya, if you're using .8mm wick I could see 6-7 wraps metering in at 1.7ohm or less.
With 4-5 wraps on a 2mm wick, I get about 1.7.
I'm using 32g kanthal A-1

im using the drill bit method, i belive the hole in the AGA-T and Vulcane (did clone) are about 2mm? so the drill bit is 2mm, so i wrap my coils first, then roll the mesh to fit through the coils (so maybe the wick is like 1.85 mm) ?

but more importantly, when using kanthal 36 gauge, will a 2/3 wrap wick be a problem since its covering less surface area? orwill it be ok and just as good as a 4/5 wrap?

I haven't used any 36g, but I do find that more wraps at a higher resistance provides a more robust vape than less coils at lower ohms. Less wraps means less surface area being heated at a quicker hotter rate. So id expect more burnt/dry hits.

i should have went with 34 gauge then but 36 might work also . Becuase if 32 gauge takes 6/7 wraps to get to 1.6 - then maybe 36 gauge will take 3/4 wraps to get to 2.3-2.5 . I want higher ohms, since i'm using it on a VV device and higher voltage won't drain the battery as fast as LR will

I just wrapped my Did clone with 32 gauge 5/6 and I'm at 2.1ohm's. Its vaping perfectly.

See for me a 5/6 is like 1.3 ohm
