I have a question concerning a CE5 Clearomizer that I purchased to use on my EGO C and EGO T. I also purchased the replacement cores. The cores state they are 1.5 ohms. Why is it that no matter what flavor I use with this it has a much greater throat hit than my other disposable Clearomizers? I have tried changing the core but it just doesn' give me any of the flavor of the liquid I have put in - just throat burn. Any guidance for this newbie would be appreciated!

Lets start with a little electronics background. Resistance (the ohm reading you see) determines how much current (electrical level, not to be confused with electrical volume which would be voltage) is passed to the end device. The lower the resistance, the more current that passes to the circuit. So, when you use a low resistance atomizer, it allows more current to pass to the heating element causing the liquid to burn at a faster rate and higher temperature.
Think of it like this, if I put an egg in a pan and turn it on low, it will eventually cook to a soft robust texture. If I take the same egg and put it on high, it will cook much faster but will likely burn and taste like crap.
Same thing here, the faster and hotter you make your e-juice the stronger and closer to a burnt taste you will get. The slower and lower temp will make it more robust but decrease vapor volume. You need to find a happy medium that fits your taste and sensations. Try a couple different resistances (the CE4, CE4V3, and CE5 all come in 1.2 to 2.8 ohm) and use a variable voltage battery and you will find exactly what you're looking for.
Remember, there are hundreds of brands of cigarettes because everyone likes something different. So don't expect "one size fits all" in the e-cig world. You will have to experiment and find what you like. Even if you spend $500 on different hardware you will still save money over smoking!!!

Oh, I forgot, make sure you actually have a CE5. I've noticed many people (even my competitors here in OH) calling a CE4V3, a CE5.
The CE5 has an "internal" wick (sometimes called a short-wick) where you can only see a little bit of wick sticking out at the top. The CE4 is a one piece, disposable, cartomizer. The CE4V3 is a two-piece, long wick unit with replaceable atomizers.
I don't personally like the CE5. I preffer the CE4V3, but this is a preference.

Thanks diablorick - your analogy was perfect! I know what I "ordered" said CE5. The cart has a mouthpiece that unscrews, then you unscrew the piece of hardware with the wick in it and screw a new one in. I can definitely see the wick sticking out each side of the hardware you screw in - about half way down - not out of the top. Unfortunately I threw the box away and just have the foil pack it came in. I have been ordering the disposable clearomizers just because I like them so much better.
