Hey guys and gals I have a question and I've seen it here before and I know what I read -- but what I have to ask is does nicotine affect flavor? The reason I ask this is based upon current observation. I have weaned myself down to 0mg liquids and have been vaping 0mg for over two months now. I notice that all the flavors from the all the same vendors I love, seem to taste totally (and i mean totally) different.

Example... Everyone on these boards knows about the infamous Mrs. T snicker doodle. In the years time I've been vaping, I have easily sucked down a dozen or more 15ml bottles of this delicious e-liquid. The color is always a cookie-like brown and oh so yummy. I notice the 0mg is even labeled slightly different with a batch # and it is a light yellowy-clear... and while you can still taste the hints of cin and buttery cookie goodness, it tastes totally different. My favorites from The Vapor Room tastes different (like tobacco doesn’t even taste like tobacco). Liquids from DFWVapor, likewise just taste different...........

Now I am fully aware that the 0mg liquids produces pretty much 0 throat hit -- and while I get that -- what I don't get is what I am experiencing here. Is this all in my mind? No -- it can't be. This is multiple vendors now and what I feel a waste of money buying liquids I don’t like! I'm actually considering placing an order for 6mg liquids just to get my "normal" flavor back!

Anyone else have similar thoughts/experiences?

this could be from a couple different things. First off, the nicotine might have contributed to the overall effect from vaping and therefore without it you feel the liquid has drastically changed. Secondly, some companies that extract from tobacco cannot make 0 nic juice so they change the formula (this happened to me once, I gave it a bad review but was later contacted from the vendor that he changed the formula because it was 0 nic).

I myself am a 0 nic vapor. I occasionally use nicotine when 0 nic is not available (such as Bobas Bounty). From my own personal experience I have not noticed a flavor difference. The throat hit disappears along with the harshness of the nicotine. It's a whole different world. Throat hit and the nicotine satisfaction no longer matters. Flavor becomes the focal point of vaping. If you think there's a difference contact the vendor and ask. My own personal experience is that nicotine does not change the flavor but does change the makeup of the liquid.
