ok so a little back ground, i am 45 YO, started smoking at age 13, i'll let you do the math. I smoked about 1/4 to 1/2 pack a day almost consistently, with the occasional pack a day when stress was super high. I started vaping again in hopes of ending my habit, its been 2 weeks and one day so far with out a cig.

I had purchased an e-twist first time round, but didn't work and i went back to smoking. Now i have a mech mod, some generic thing i bought for $50. I have an AGA TD that has about 4 coils and using SS mesh, i also have 2 drip units that i have no idea on the name at the moment. They are both micro coil wrapped using organic cotton. I use 100% VG vaperoo in cinnamon and waffle flavor as those are the 2 i tasted the most, not really but what ever. the VG is the only thing i can use because of a reaction to PG.

I have taken my setup to 3 shops, 2 rebuilt it and stated the other shop did it wrong on the AGA TD, but is still can barely taste any flavor. I get tons of vapor, i mean tons. Every one that tries my set up says they can totally taste the flavors, but I don't. Recently some one said it takes about a month to get some taste buds back from smoking so long? Weird thing is, I can taste everything else! Soda is sweeter, salt is saltier, fruit sweeter, so what gives? Why can't i taste the flavors?? BTW i did try 50/50 VG/PG when i went and bought the newest setup, thats how i figured out PG was no bueno for me. Still didn't taste the flavors. Will i ever be able to taste the flavors, am i expecting too much flavor? Is it more smell based, than taste?

It was 3 months for me before I could barely taste anything. Being a heavy smoker for 40+ yrs was hard on my taste buds. I am slowly getting flavor out of my juice, but not near as much as I want. I'm hoping it will continue to get better with time. If you are buying your juice from somewhere that offers flavor shots, get several extra shots in your juice, it may help. Since I DIY my juice, I have had to get heavy handed with the flavor so I can taste it.

Sometimes, I really believe that the juice just 'hints' at a flavor or 'reminds' you of a flavor but doesn't really have much taste IMO. Hoping that will change before long.

I had to have super strong flavors until I dropped down to 6mg nic. I started at 24mg nic, and even at 12mg nic, subtle flavored juice really had no flavor at all to me. I smoked for 30 years, and have always had a very good sense of taste. The only thing I noticed after quitting smoking was when something was too salty, but flavors were never a problem. In fact, I was a bit disappointed after I quit when I didn't have any heightened sense of taste beyond what I normally experience.

We all taste things differently, and I could never get any subtle hints of flavor unless a complex juice was really strong to begin with. Like I said, since I dropped down to 6mg I am tasting what I would have considered very subtle juices before, and really tasting them.

I've only ever used 6mg nic. I tried 12 and damn near fainted, way too strong for me

I went through something similar and have been without cigs for a month now and while food tastes better and seasonings are more pronounced the vape tastes are changing and for me. At first I was strictly doing ry4's and ry8's but all I was tasting was a sweet undertone with the exception of Irish cream and some super sweet fruit flavors. Now the Irish cream is so overpowering and the fruity ones upset my stomach after a few hits it's too sweet. Not sure on the pg/vg thing. I know for me I'm moving more towards savory and spicy flavors- at first I thought that was because of my cooking but now you have me thinking.
Another place to try would be
http://www.smokecignals.com
The people there Are great I called them told them what was going on and they sent me something that's not on the sales floor yet called "sweet Carolina" and it worked perfectly. You can either call them or notate upon your order and they will help you out anyway they can. Total boutique and customizable place and very well priced.

It has been about a month for me and my taste and smell come and go. I had a horrible day today where I could taste my Gatorade (Fierce Melon) I drink at work, but none of the four juices I had with me would do anything for me today. I know this is what I will go through from time to time, but it is getting better. Hang in there and you will find something that works for you.

What does "sweet Carolina" taste like?

I also tend to favor the desert and savory flavors. I'm not into fruit or tobacco at all, my wife is the fruit lover

Hard to explain without sounding like a food critic-lol
Sweet with hints of black cherry, hazelnut and vanilla. It has a faint hint of spice on the tail end and an overall rich savory texture to it.
It is a "tobacco" flavor although i don't get that from it. I would put it similar to pink spots outlaw or swagger only not as overpowering.
Only downside is that it's a dark liquid which I love tastewise but shortens the life of some coils.
But if you like savory and not the fruity ones you'll enjoy it.
.My fiancé who prefers analog smokes and like me doesn't like the fruity flavors actually enjoys this one quite a bit. Reminds her of chocolate and caramel a little.

You'll definitely be pleased all their vapes are made in house and the customer service combined with product knowledge makes it worth going through them alone! If you call them and ask for whoever is filling internet orders that day they will put you through. I think it's normally "Josh." None the less just tell him what you are looking for flavor wise and he will walk you through it and just tell you to put a reminder In the notes section of the order page. If you order before noon or one o'clock central time it'll be in the mail same day. They will even send you an email when it goes out!
If it weren't for finding that place I would have given up on the vaper thing and went back to analog. The other b&m down here is not helpful at all. This one is like a haberdashery for vapers.
