Hi ECF. It has been a LOOONG time since I've posted here at ECF, but I know this is the place to come for answers.

I started vaping about 3 years ago with a kgo kit and within two months I upgraded to a Provari V2. The Provari has been flawless for the last two an half years. It has worked so well that I never even bought a backup.

Today however, I bought a KBox mini and I'm certainly not thrilled about charging through the mod.

When I bought my Provari kit it came with a Tenergy TN270 that I use to charge the button top AW IMR 18650 Li-Mn batteries I use with my Provari.

Will this charger successfully charge the Sigelei 35A Li-Mn flat top batteries that came with the Kbox kit I bought? The guy at the vape shop said absolutely not, but I'm not sure he had a clue what he was talking about so I thought I'd stop here to get the authoritative answer.

I certainly don't want to put the batteries in the charger if it isn't safe and I haven't had much luck searching.

Thanks in advance!

1) I've seen Tenergy batteries and chargers on many sites, if it has worked well with you AW IMR's to this point I see no problem continuing to use it with those AW IMR's
2) I do not know how well it will work with these higher amp limit batteries and battery chemistries, thus why you will see suggestions for Pila, Xtar, Efest LUC, and Nitecore chargers
3) See Sigelei now trying to jump onto the battery band wagon like Efest, buying B, C, and D batch batteries from LG, Samsung, Sony, and Panasonic, then re-spec (over spec) them from what they really are, in that Kbox I see no prob with that battery if it is an LG He2/He4 or Samsung 25R cell underneath the wrapper, they are 3 solid 20amp CDR cells, if they are not you are better off buying name brand from a source that offers LG, Samsung, and Sony.

I'm tagging you to @Baditude and @Mooch , two of our more knowledgeable battery and safety gurus

I believe that charger tops off at 4.25V...that's high. Too high in my opinion. It should be OK as long as it never gets any higher but it unnecessarily stresses your batteries.

Those Sigelei batteries are probably 20A, at best. But that's enough as long as they aren't low grade cells that run hot and/or degrade quickly,

Thank you for the replies so far. I have managed to find a post through Google on another site that says the Sigelei batteries are rewrapped Samsung 25s, but I can't find anything else in the way of confirmation.

Just to be on the safe side, should I just bite the bullet and buy some Samsung 25Rs to KNOW that I have a good battery? Right now I'm running the KBox at 30w and that seems more than fine for me, though from what I've read a 20A battery should be good to 50W. Is that a true statement?

Should I look at a new charger like a Nitecore?

Things have changed SO much in the last 2 1/2 years. I fear the next time I go into the brick and mortar store I'll be yelling "GET OFF MY LAWN!" :'(

For me personally, I rather buy a genuine 25R at a lower price than a battery that might be a 25R (of unknown grade) at a higher price. :)

25R's will handle 50W without problems.
But since the max current you will be drawing is less than 16A you could also use the 3000mAh LG HG2, a fantastic battery up to 20A. This will let you go longer between recharging.

Should I pick up a newer (better) charger as well? Would I need a new charger for either of those batteries? If memory servers, back in the day the Tenergy chargers were considered good, but as with all things, technology changes everything. I would rather spend a little and be safe than sorry.

Personally on the charger, I'd upgrade at least to a Nitecore i2 or D2, higher end I'd suggest the Xtar VC2 or VP2 at the higher end, all 4 of these are 2 bay intelligent chargers, need a 4 bay adjust accordingly the numeric value on the model numbers.
