I'm really new (been vaping for less than two days). I'm interested in dripping, because it seems like less hassle than topping off and refilling carts (I have a Joye 510). When I drip using an empty cart, I drop a couple drops into the atty and put the empty cart back on. No leaking. I hit the button and take a drag, and I get leaking from around the connection between the battery and atty. Am I doing something wrong? Would a drip tip stop this? What exactly is a drip tip and how does it work? Thanks!

Hi,

How many drops are you dripping to the atty? When I drip, I drip about 2 - 3 drops per few puffs, when it gets dry i drip again. A drip tip replaces the cartridge. It has a wide opening on the mouthpiece, therefore you do not need to remove the driptip each time you drip. You would just directly drip 2-3 drops per few puffs from the driptip. If you drip too many drops it will flood the atty.

Hope this helps

Hi, Pandatera. I am dripping 2 or 3 drops. I started dripping 4 drops, but it gurgled, so I lowered it. Do you think a drip tip would stop the leaking? I'm still not sure why it's leaking, unless I already need to clean the atty from flooding it earlier? Maybe I should use the other atty and clean this one and see if that fixes it. Thanks!

if your getting leaking there its cause the atty got flooded. unscrew it, put a paper towel over the battery end of the atomizer, blow from the mouth piece all the excess juice into the towel. clean up the battery and try again with less drops.

i dont think a drip tip will fix this issue. and you atomizer should be just fine.

The drip tip will not stop the leaking. When you hear it gurgle it means it's flooded. Unscrew your atomizer and blow out the excess juice from the atomizer. Try dripping 2 drops and see if it's better. It's hard to really tell how many drops, because the way each person squeeze the bottle is different. It takes some time to get use to it. Once in awhile I would still have it leak. But its getting better for me now.

I wouldn't say dripping is less hassle than refilling carts, it's just a smoother/tastier hit. You have the technique down pat by the sounds of it. A drip tip would not stop the leaking problem. A drip tip is just like your blank cart (for the most part) and people use the blanks for that purpose. Some drip tips (depending on style/atty/etc) contain a rubber O ring that stops the leaking between the atty and the tip, but does not affect leakage at the atty/batty. They tend to have a large opening at the top of the tip so you can drip juice right though the tip vs. removing it. I also get the leaking problem at the same point you do, clean off the battery and atty screw threads and tighten the connection firmly. Sometimes this helps but overall I have just learned to live with it.

When dripping I always do a quick inhale with out activating it before I actually take a hit.
What that does is sucks up any juice from the threads and gives you a extra hit or two.

Also is your atomizer de bridged?
Some attys when de bridged fail to retain juice but doing the trick as I previously started fixes that :)

I had that same problem in my 510 days, something I just learned to live with because dripping was head-and-shoulders superior; carts didn't perform well for me, and the cartos I tried were pure evil from Hell's heart (I've since discovered better cartos, but dripping still carries the day).

You can't "fix" the problem; attys necessarily have inconvenient holes in them, and gravity works. You can only control it by limiting the number of drops in your refills—or by switching to a mod that has a catch cup. Just as a for-instance, my Buzz has a satisfyingly large one:

dys....can you explain this de bridged atty? Got my curiosity up now.
A debridged atty is an atomizer with the wicking bridge removed.you tube is and will be your best friend for how to de bridge an atomizer. But once you do redbridge I doubt you'll go back to using normal atomizers :)

Here a thread on debridge atty, and how it's done. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/132683-bridgeless-drippers-dream-atty.html

But once you debridge the atty you can only use it for dripping, can't use carts w/ it. Since the bridge is not there to wick your carts.

Quick check Anacat, is your battery manual or automatic? Dripping in to an atty with an automatic battery on is not recommended, a manual should be used for this... When the atty gets flooded a portion of that juice flows in to your battery section, on a manual battery this part is sealed, on an automatic it is not, causing failure of the auto batts.

The battery is manual. I had a disposable with an automatic and it was not fun needing those primer puffs. It was just weird, so when I got the 510, I ordered manual batteries. I got a drip tip today, which is much more convenient. I was putting too much in. Blowing the atty out helped. I guess I needed to get to know my atty and what it will take. Thanks, everyone! I'm getting an ego-t this weekend, so that should be the end of that problem. Until then, I'll keep paper towel near for any leakage.
