That's not why I use RTAS.

1. I don't have to rely on buying coil heads all the time.

2. I don't have to worry about getting bad coil heads.

3. I don't have to worry about my tank has fallen out of favor and the coils for my tank are no longer made.

4. I am in control of the ohm levek and vaping experience. This is why I DIY my own ejuice.

5. If the FDA DOES SOMETHING STUPID; it will not affect me. VG and PG are used so many ways they will not be outlawed. Wire is used in electronics and can't be outlawed. I can get organic cotton at CVS, Walgreens, etc. I have multiple tanks RDAs, RTAs etc.

My interest in getting an RTA is mainly for the reasons you mention, specifically having more control over my device and being able to customize my coils to get the best vape for my tastes. I was merely observing that a nice side-effect is that I won't be spending as much money on pre-built coils and will thus have more money in my budget to spend on fun hardware like tanks (I currently only have two). I recently started making my own juices too, which also significantly reduces my vaping costs. It's a lot of fun getting deeper into the hobby aspect of vaping, which is the main reward here, but saving money is great too!

Always go with what works for you with the juice you are running. Depending on the juice I vape it in the 12-15W range, usually on a .6ohm coil

Absolutely. A vape that isn't satisfactory is useless.

I also vape low 15-17.5 watts.

Getting into the 17W range would burn some of the juices I'm running lol Might get better once I go with thicker wire, so I have the heat spread out over a larger surface area. Still waiting for that 24AWG to arrive.

Thanks for the input! It's nice to hear that you guys also find that lower wattage works best for you. I'm still getting my confidence up in rebuilding (gonna rewick today) so hearing that you also find that wattage range to be appropriate helps me feel good about my build :)

I use two sizes wire. 28 gauge on my Kayfun Nano, and 26 gauge in my Goblin Mini. The GMini has a screw that likes to back out and I have to torque it down. So I use 26 gauge there.

I had my GMini up to 32 watts once but that was too warm for me.

I run 28awg duals in my Aqua V2, but that's a larger surface area as there are 2 coils, also in the 28awg range. I run higher wattage in it though... 20-25 depending on the juice.
