Question to Clapton builders

The coils you guys are building look flat out amazing.

I have a question for you

Has anyone considered winding wicking material around the clapton coils like so?

Seems to me, if you wound cotton around the outer layer, in between the loops it would help transfer juice more efficiently to the coil while keeping it constantly wet. Would also take advantage of all that extra surface area and probably increase flavor.

Food for thought at least.

If it works, name it the bug zapper coil after me

I'd rather use 400-500 316 torched stainless steel mesh, I don't see wrapping cotton working too well.

cotton that thin would dry out incredibly fast and most likely burn. this is only a prediction, but a likely one.

Twisted Messes actually did exactly what youre saying...check out his instagram. He claptoned wire with cotton thread but needless to say the attempt failed cuz the cotton coudlnt handle the heat
