Hi guys! First post on here but wanted to ask something. So I use an Aegis X mod with the Cerberus tank, I use 18mg e-liquid from onepoundeliquid.com. I also use 0.4ohm supermesh coils, is this "bad" using the strength of liquid I use for this mod and coils? I've been vaping this for around 2 years now since quitting smoking.
Thanks!

Would be nice to know the wattage you vape at, however if 18mg does not make you feel "nic sick" (dizzy, nausea, all around bad feeling), then it's OK. However at some point you might want to try using 16, 14 or 12mg and see if that satisfies you as well as 18mg does. Vaping less nic is always a good thing.

Watts matter, air flow restriction matters, the force, frequency, and duration of your draw matters... What I am saying is, as everyone else said by telling you if your not getting sick, than you've accomplished your goal of not smoking, for two whole years. Way to go. And to reiterate what unklejunkie mentioned about tapering down, about a year after I switched to vape permanently, I tried tapering. Took a month to get from 6mg to 3mg, then two months to drop to 1mg. Tried a few times to drop below that, and every time felt like nothing in it, so I gave up. Fast forward a year more, and I tried again. Now I vape 0.18mg, and am going to try for 0.15 and then 0.12 next... My nic supply has thanked me, as what I once thought would last me 40-50 years, is now 5-6x what I will ever need. Best of luck.

18mg freebase with a 0.4 Ohm coil would probably make my lungs turn inside out, but if it's working for you, more power to ya. As others have mentioned, you may want to try and reduce the concentration of nicotine some. Maybe switch to an 18 mg salt nic to reduce the throat hit before reducing the nic level to a lower concentrated freebase.

Congrats on 2 years of no cancer sticks. :toast:

Thank you all for the replies, I have read all of them and haven’t thought wrongly about what you’ve all said. For the person that asked what wattage I use - I normally vape at around 60-65watts, 2 years cigarette free is amazing but I still crave nicotine after quitting which is why I’ve turned to vaping. I’m just questioning this whole vaping thing still, it definitely satisfies me but it’s just whether when I do lower my strength of nic will I stay satisfied because I just do get a bit flustered sometimes because I start thinking to myself “This surely can’t be right that I’m vaping at this strength, wattage and what mod I use” kind of thing but that’s just me being silly I know! I’m loving vaping at the moment, love chucking a large plume and I’m actually practising some tricks! Love the community here!

Well done you! I’m definitely going to try lowering the nicotine as I go, I’ll probably go to 16 then 12 and so on. Thanks a lot!!

P.S! I haven’t I haven’t been getting nic sick, just get a bit of a nic rush when I first hit it in the morning or when I haven’t used it in a while which is what I loved about smoking. Just one more question here if anyone sees this- I recently brought some coils from a vendor on Amazon and now that I’ve got them I’m not too sure they’re legit, I did a product search on the Aegis site but these coils weren’t found, should I keep using these coils or should I buy some from the actual Aegis site? Thanks!

I can't speak to those coils, but I have used knock offs before. There is always a chance that the metal used is of inferior quality, containing trace metals that you may not particularly want, but I'd only be concerned really if it were prolonged use. I'm sure I've inhaled worse in tunnels and walking through traffic even.

As for lowering nic, start slow, and you may not even notice it. For me, decreasing from 6 to 3 was noticable, and I was taking a few more puffs then usual, but my body adjusted within days, and the amount of juice I used in a day quickly came back to baseline.

Thank you and yes that is very true actually, we all probably have inhaled worse haha! And thanks as well for the advice, I’m hoping lowering down the nic slowly will help!

Brad, I feel as though I'm pulling for you and I'm nervous for you, at the same time I'm rooting for vaping to hold you steady as an ex-smoker until you know you're in the clear. It's like this is you, and me too. Hard to explain.

You need high enough nic to keep you feeling secure. The addiction to cigarettes is as much about the nicotine in tobacco as it is about chemical additives put there by tobacco companies to enhance the experience and keep you coming back.

When I went through that first six weeks of dual use, both smoking and vaping, before leaving cigarettes behind for good, I had to find the combination of flavor, strong throat hit, and the right nicotine strength, in order to feel that satisfaction, the cheeks full of happy puffs, the mood elevation. It had to be what it had to be.

Around two weeks after my last cigarette, I actually had to lower my nic strength because I was always feeling like I just had five cups of coffee. I was waking up in the middle of the night, wired. I lowered my nic from 18 mg to 12, the level I've kept from 2012 until now, satisfied, no cig cravings.

It's all discovery until it becomes your very own forever vape. Never feel like you have to give up. There is always an adjustment to try. And keep inquiring in this forum.

I didn't know you could get vape equipment on Amazon any more. I used to get VapeOnly clones of Aspire BVC coils from Gothic Vapor. As much as I love Gothic Vapor for their house made eliquids and great service, I do find that the clone coils are not as good as the real Aspire product, so I left off buying those long ago. Somehow clones, all around, seem to me to have quality control problems, besides which the cloners are pretty much pirating someone else's intellectual property.

Oddly enough, mine too. I found it complimented the nic flavor. When I dropped nic, I quickly went unflavored.

I'd love to go unflavored but I tried it a couple of times and the taste the nic and the sweetness of the VG make me gag. I wonder if a bittering additives I've seen on the flavor vendors' sites would at least remove the sweetness of the VG?
