I am building my first box mod, its a DNA40 in a aluminum Hana style enclosure with the chip sled.

When wiring the DNA4040 chip which side is best to have the wires protrude from on the chip, top or bottom remember I will be mounting chip in the sled that comes with the Hana enclosure.

I have never used a sled in my chana boxes. I run all the wires out of the side with the switches. The screen wraps around the other side with the big square inductor. I wouldn't have room for the wires on that side since I hold the screen on the inductor with double sided foam tape. Maybe the sled gives you room to run the wires on the inductor side, I don't know. Try test fitting. Just stick the wires into the holes without solder and see how everything fits.

I use superglue gel control for the switches. It is easier to keep where you want it than the liquid stuff. Epoxy would be good. Hot glue didn't stick well enough for me and the switches slowly sank into the case. I have since found a better (hotter) glue gun but haven't tried it on the switches since superglue gel works so well. I just use a tiny dot on each corner of the switch and press it on. I haven't tried Sugru.

All Finished, Everything went well. Using the sled helped to line things up but made it tough to fit everything. Overall Im happy with the results. Thank You to those that offered advice! I think I was a little intimidated by the project but once I got in there and started test fitting everything and building it was actually pretty easy even though it was only like my second time soldering.
