I'm in the market for my first VV device. I laid out a list of things that were important to me after doing a ton research.

  1. Filtered PWM or Flat DC signal
  2. Standard safety features (venting, reverse polarity protection, etc)
  3. 3.0 amp or better
  4. Ohm checker (I want to get into rebuildables)
  5. Preferably 18650 for the highest mAh
With that list in mind I think I’ve narrowed it down to a Lavatube as the best match. In Pbusaros' comparison video he points out that the L-Rider has a flat dc signal. With the new info about PWM devices not being tuned properly for Vrms, this is important in my decision. I'd like to be able to use LR atty/cartos and not fear burning them out with a device that says 3.4v and is really firing at 4.4v+. Now my concern is his review was for the older model of L-rider tube, not the new Lambo 4.0.

So the questions i still have are...
Does anyone know if the new Lambo 4.0 tubes still output flat dc?
What amp limit do they have? Many places advertise 4amp and that just does not seem probable.
Does anyone use the Lambo 4.0 with a dual coil tank setup, how does it perform?
Are there other mods that also match my requirements? (A Provari is outside of my budget)

Thanks for all the help!

The Vmax performs as an unfiltered pwm device that is tuned for Vavg, not for Vrms. Pbusaro showed the Vmax at 3.0v performing the same as a Provari at 4.2v. So this basically rules out the safe use of low resistance attys.

EDIT: Turns out that was a Version 1 vmax, the version 2 they re-tuned a little bit and it performs a bit closer to its read-out voltage. I'll do a bit more research on the V2
