Hello everyone =)
I am going to buy an e-cig for my sister, who currently smokes, and I am trying to get her to quit eventually by switching her over to e-cig's and gradually reducing the mg of nicotine in the e-liquid.
I think I am going to get the 510 from totallywicked for her, but I have some questions about e-liquid. How many drops would I put into the cartriges, and what strenghths and how many mg of nicotine equal a normal cigarette? Also, I need to be able to get her e-liquid fast, so what is one of the fasted e-liquid sites that has a range of nicotine strenghts, and ships to California fast? (Like a few days)
Thanks in advance =)

My first question would have to be why are you making the decision for her? Hope that doesn't sound wrong, but your post does raise a flag with me for some reason. Maybe she just doesn't have computer access? Followed by how much does she currently smoke as that can be a factor in what will work best. There's a lot of personal preference as well that plays into a successful switch to vaping.

I would be better if she was in on the decision, but I also understand you taking the first step. Recently I loaned a NicoStick to a friend so she could try it. Since then, she has kept the NicoStick and a Wall Wart mod of mine while she is waiting for the 510 she just ordered.
I may or may not get my stuff back but if I don't, it's well worth the sacrifice.

I give you a gold star!!!

This is kind of tough, because there is a lot to learn about vaping in order to find out what works for you, and most of that stuff you can't learn until you have one in your hands and start trying it. Then you start finding out the things you like and don't like about it, and then you buy a different one.

This is more true for the flavors that are out there. Nobody can predict what anybody will like. Heck, most of us will tell you we couldn't have even predicted what we would wind up liking and not liking.

Having said all that, you should get a 510 with one manual and one automatic battery, so your friend can try both. You should get some cartridges and some cartomizers, so your friend can try both. And you should make sure to order at least one or two other flavors to refill the cartridges/cartomizers with.

As for juice should get as many different flavors and strengths as you can.
Might want to check out cignot.com to place your orders.

Ten or twenty years ago, had someone given me an e-cig, I'd have smiled politely, done a mental one finger salute, and tossed it in a drawer. Now after smoking for 35 years and trying gum, Chantix, Wellbutrin, and wishful thinking to stop, had one of my kids gifted me with one, I'd have been thrilled. So it sort of depends on whether she wants to quit but has been unsuccessful so far.

As to the nicotine, it depends on how much and what she was smoking. I was 2 pack/day VA Slims 120s Ultra Lights, and as a newbie, I'm using anywhere from 16-26 mg/mL.

The flavor is really a subjective thing. After just a week, I still "need" the tobacco-ey types (particularly liked Vapor Stations Texas) while others jump right into the deep end and get as far away from cigarettes as they can. Vapor Station has a great sampler pack for about $25+shipping which allows you to pick 10 flavors of your choosing, so you can get sweet and tobacco.

Good luck to her (and you)

First off, I applaud you for trying to help. I also urge you not to have any expectations. Some of us take to these e-cigarettes like a duck to water, where others make a switch gradually, smoking and vaping at the same time. Everyone is different and most of us have not been able to predict what we would like till we tried a few things out.

You picked a good model, the 510 seems to be the standard. You can get juices in different strengths, so you might want to get her 2 juices of the same flavor in different strengths so that if a higher mg is too strong for her she can cut it down with a lower strength.

I was a heavy smoker and started at 18mg and then went up to 24. That is where I have stayed. Also, when I first started I got a tobacco flavor (red and white) and a few basic flavors (clove, vanilla and chocolate). Throughout the day, as the tobacco flavor would loose its taste, I would add a couple of drops of one of the flavors and that would bring the taste back.

The brilliance of this device is not just that it delivers nicotine in a safer fashion than cigarettes, but, that it uses our sense of taste and smell to help recreate the smoking experience.

I wish you the best of luck.
