Questions while I wait for my order

...which will come while we are on vacation:cry:

I feel like such a noob, but it has been a while since I ordered anything really new (to me), so I guess I am!

I ordered a Lux. I couldn't help it--I wasn't planning to--but someone posted about it and had a link, and the darned thing just looked so nice I lost all control. I am telling myself it was the 900mah battery--that will save money in the long run--right? In truth, my head as turned by the shiny button. So happy birthday to me!

I don't have an eGo or a Riva or any of the other similar models--I have 401, 510, 801, 901, Janty Stick, some mod I forgot the name of, and Kr8081-d. Mostly I use the long 808 batteries with an 801 or 901 atty. I like the *idea* of cartomizers, but I just never seem to get the hang of them.

Anyway (can you tell I am bored?)...

1. How long does it take the Lux battery to charge? From reading other posts, it appears that there is a charge on at least one battery, so I can play with it right away--correct? But from a cold dead battery, how long does it take for a full charge?

2. Can you vape while charging, like a passthrough? The cord looks pretty short, but if it were plugged into a Kensington or something, it would be possible...if it is possible.

3. What exactly do the SS attys do? I understand they are low ohms or something but what does that mean (to us non-mechanical engineers)?

4. What is the difference between a 902 and a 510?

5. I think I read that there will be cartomizers. So I looked around and saw that they now make 510 cartomizers--fancy that! (I stocked up on supplies last year and haven't really ordered much for a long time.) Are they like 808 cartomizers--atty and cartridge combined? Do they work well? ith 808s, I would get good performance out of 1 in 3, so that kind of soured me on cartomizers, but the ones that worked were really nice.

Hope I haven't made a pest of myself. I could probably answer these questions all by myself, but I do not think there is any way my package can get here before we leave, so I have over a week to think about this, and thinking is not what I want to do at the beach:pervy:

Thanks! Loved reading y'all's reviews! They were great!

OH
I'm a almost 3 day noob...so won't be of much help. But, I just got a LUX and I can at least tell you that yes, one had a charge and yes, I started right away...couldn't wait...it was like Christmas. I didn't pay too close attention to how long it took to fully charge the other...and, honestly, I doubt you will the first time either as the first battery lasts for a very long time! I vaped all day and it hadn't died on me. The next morning I just changed to the fully charged and threw the one I had used on the charger, but honestly, it hadn't shown any sign of dying. Awesome battery life!

I have never used a passthrough or a carto...so, no help there!

KCR, you sure don't seem like a mean old lady to me. :) I'll do my best for you....

1. I'm honestly not sure how long it takes to charge from being dead as I do it over night and each battery lasts 2 or 3 days for me. That being said though, yes you can vape on one right out of the box while charging the other, which won't take too long to charge the first time.

2. These aren't passthrough batteries so you can't vape while charging. The charger connects to the same end that the atty would.

3. By being low ohm, it gives a similar effect of having a normal atty on a higher voltage battery. In other words, a little more vapor and throat hit. Although flavor or battery hit could be a side effect, I really don't think it is. As a side note, I still don't know if "SS" stands for anything. :)

4. All atomizers are designed differently, so I can't comment on that. From a user stand point, I think this would be fair.... People love the 510 for its vapor production and throat hit. Some of those people though say the 510 runs very hot and degrades flavor. The 902 does not run as hot. It has amazing flavor. YET retains great vapor and throat hit. Different people prefer each though which is understandable. MV recently updated the design of the 902 so that the threads matched the 510. This means the 510 atomizers/cartos will fit on the 902 and LUX batteries.

5. Yes, Tony from MV has been getting the right design for a cartomizer. Tony even uses 510 cartos sometimes. And yes, they are combined like you said the 808 is. I'm like you though and never bothered with them. I will try Tony's though when they come out.

Good luck!!!

Kris, we will learn together :)And you will have a nice head start ;)

Billy--thank you so much!

Especially for answering about the attys--it makes me look forward to trying the SS one! That is one thing that was "bad" about the 510--lots of vapor and throat hit, but no flavor at all. (Well, that and dismal battery life:glare:)

And yeah--if the battery connects to the charger via the atty end, vapor won't pass through anything! Not sure why I even cared, really, but I was just curious. And now I am not ;)

Is anyone else a constant vapor? I fill up with really low-nic juice and happily puff all day long. (See why the 900 mah battery sounds so good to me?) My husband calls it my pacifier. So at some point I can probably give you a good idea of how long the batteries last before they need replacing. I keep notes (married to a scientist--he wants *data* not opinions:laugh:) and once a battery won't hold a charge for at least half its original life, I get new ones. With this battery, I think my notes will be seriously condensed!

(And Billy, I try not to post when I am mean :))

Kcr-It's now my 3rd day with my LUX and it is even better today than yesterday...vapor amount has increased quite a bit since first day. I also have the sideshow and honestly, I always want to use my LUX. And, yes...it is so pretty! Should have gotten one in a different color instead of getting the sidesho! (not to say that the sidesho isn't good...just up against the LUX...)

I think I'll be able to stand 11-12 hours :D

It didn't come today--and I wasn't expecting it to, as that would have only been 2 days. But the postman did bring a package from...Elk Grove, IL and I got so excited! ...It was something else I had ordered and wasn't watching for. I was happy to get it, but I wanted it to be my new toy!

Ah, well.

Vape on--I might not "see" you until I get back and have it in my hands--which will be nice.

I have it!

And oh, it is so pretty:wub:! Worked right out of the box, just like y'all said it would, too.

I went ahead and put the spare battery on to charge, and if I paid better attention I could give you an accurate account of how long the initial charge on the second battery takes, but all I can say is that approximately four hours later I looked and it was charged.

 I have already vaped through the first battery and it is now recharging. I'll try to pay better attention about the timing. I am assuming they are shipped with a 40% charge rather than a full charge, and after being in a car all day (I loathe traffic) I came in, opened it up, and vaped like it was going out of style for ~five hours. It was not normal usage--but very very promising!

I am really liking the SS atty, too. The taste is better than a regular 510. I think I will order a few more. Any idea about how long they last? Even with "straight" juice, the vapor is very nice, and with a glycerin mix it is... most abundant.:p:smokie:

I checked the tracking and it arrived shortly after we left the house. I was hoping that they would hold it with the rest of the mail, but apparently they sent it out as soon as it arrived at the Post Office. It required a signature, so they left the 1st notice--along with the warning that if they couldn't deliver it in 15 days it would be returned to the sender. Well, I panicked, because I didn't want that, so I followed the link for the redelivery page. I checked that I would pick it up either today or Monday (not sure what time they close on Saturday) but--when we got home last night, it was in the bin with the week's mail that the postman had left when he came through! I was very happy about that. This is the first time the PO has made a mistake with something I ordered--but it was a mistake I liked!

So...count me in as a fan of the Lux. Extremely satisfied, and having fun playing with it as I type.

(And the beach was great! Always book after Labor Day--it's all geezers and homeschoolers, but no big crowds and the rates are way lower:laugh:)

I clean my attys. All i can say is that I still have all but one of my original attys I ordered through Feb. and March. I'm still stocking up in case the idiot FDA decides to ban them. Thinking about buying a mod, but I love my MV stuff so much that I know I want to have enough to hold me through if neccesary. I do have other PV's, but my Lux and 902 are my absolute favorites. Also still use my sideshos. I'm sure you're going to find the same thing with your Modern Vapor PV's. Tony sells the absolute best. He doesn't seem to be satisfied with just "good".

Well, I ordered a couple more of the SS attys. And a red and blue battery and cone. And some blank flat-tipped carts. And some cartomizers to try. And one of those little men--just because they are cute:oops:

So I am pretty sure you can safely say I like it:laugh:

I had ordered a red atty that was on clearance, and almost immediately the phone rang. I have one of those caller ID phones that yells out the name and number of the caller (so I don't even have to get up to know if it is not someone I want to talk to ) but it has definite issues when pronouncing names. The Lad's name is Chris, and the phone calls him Crease. Anyway, it shouted out some very strange name--it struggled with it twice before I realized it was attempting to say "Kaeo." So I answered, and it was Tony calling to say that they were already packing the order (!) and that he thought I might need to know that the clearance atty was not compatible with the Lux and was I sure I really wanted it. Of course I didn't, and I really appreciated that he took the time to confirm that I ordered something I wanted.

Thanks, Tony!

Oh---but I did just now get a charge time on the Lux battery (meaning I actually paid attention).

It took 5 hours and 57 minutes. (Not bad, considering the big KR808 batts I was used to using took 4 hours to charge and only lasted 3.5 hours of vaping.)

Next time I will charge overnight, but I wanted to get an idea of the time so I would know.
