Quick AW batt questions

So looking here i see these *NEW* 3000 and 2200 mah aw's. Are the 1600 still the go to for you guys?

I know a lot of people use the 1600s. I use the 2200s only since my builds (anywhere from .5 to 1.0 depending on the atty) don't need the extra amperage. One batt lasts me all day. Haven't tried the 3000s but I think they're flat top if that matters to you.

yes thanks, just looking for button tops at the moment. My 25R's are working fine, just looking for some backups.

The 3000's are rewrapped LG HG2's. Very good batteries that are getting really popular. I'm using them after using the 1600's for the past year and would recommend the 3000's hands down. If you want to save a little cash look for the LG HG2's on RTD, the brown ones.

I'm not sure about the other AW batteries. If they are rewraps I'm not sure what they are. That would be a good question for the battery sub forum, I bet Mooch could tell you.

I've heard they all are but that they look for the best cells to use in their products. That's good enough for me. I've only used Sony VTC4s otherwise and they were for another mod that uses flat tops.

Yep - the dude that operates AW (those are his initials) takes the best of the best and rewraps them. Think of it like the "Criterion Collection" of batts. You can trust most any AW bat (provided it meets your performance needs).

I had been stuck on using nothing but aw button tops when I get my new batts, but recently have been thinking of checking out the HG2's, at least for the woodvil, but maybe for the grand as well. I've been using a rotation of 4 gray pannies (flat top), cuz that's what I had, and one aw imr that I have, and love the throw of the aw, but have been hearing sooooo much good about the hg2's lately, I'm certainly considering them.

Ditched AW for LG myself, will never look back

But any of the aforementioned AWs are fine and did me well for over a year. Excellent batteries. I preferred the 2200s myself

All I use are the AW batteries in all my devices (Provaris and Reos). I never build below 1.2 so they're perfect for me. I've never even thought about upgrading.

AW- In terms of cells these are the highest quality available. Andrew Wan used to work for Panasonic, developed his own company, and is the top provider of cells to flashlight users (and of course now vapers). He gets the top 5%* of cells from Panasonic, Sanyo, etc. Cells routinely last 500 charges or more if handled properly. Enjoy the day!

I just ordered a pair of the LG's, I currently run Sammy 25r's in my new Grand. I was considering button top AW's but once the Modfather posted in a thread saying that flat tops were fine for Grands I decided to skip button tops in favor of the LG's or Sammy's.

I love aw batts. Using a 2200mah with a .5ish coil. Works great and lasts most of the dya

Grab some REO door magnets and put one on top of that hg2 when it comes in. Shortens the throw to replicate an AW button top. Also reduces the pitting and arcing that seem to plague flat tops in grands otherwise. Been doing this for a while now, works great. @SteamStack for the pro tip!
