I don't know the actual name, but you can easily make a 510 tube mod out of a flashlight.
Here's mine that we made at home.

Hi. You think e cigs are worth the price and effort?

As with most things, it depends on you and to some extent where you live. At around $10 a pack in NY (The smugglers love that state now.), it's certainly worth the price, if you live there. Even in NC where they're more like $3 a pack, if you don't go crazy trying things, it's a little cheaper. If you have a brother in-law that tries different things and gives you his cast offs, it's a lot cheaper. I'm the brother in-law.

However, you haven't really asked the right question. How much trouble is it worth to get off cigarettes? If you'll only do it with something that looks like a cigarette, tastes like a cigarette, feels like a cigarette, is as trouble free as a cigarette, and costs less than a cigarette, then vaping's not for you. That combination doesn't exist.

Hi. You think e cigs are worth the price and effort?

I'm only 6 days in but my two cents is a resounding yes... haven't smoked a single cig and if I want to I can get through the rest of the month on what I spend in a little over two weeks on cigs. I won't though cause I' want to try more flavors. I will keep it under what I'd spend on cigs in a month though.

Most certainly. Once I worked my way through the "smoke and mirrors" of the big advertisers I have found some good deals. You definitely do not need to stick with one manufacturer, you just need to stick with compatible e-cigs parts. There is a lot of good advice to be found here at ECF and sooner than you think you will be groovin'. Best of luck.

Hi. You think e cigs are worth the price and effort?

For me it's a resounding yes. I'm back to running again without coughing up a 4 lane highway, and I just feel better. There for a while I felt like 48 going on 90, no energy and always in a bad mood. Now if my eGo would hurry up and arrive I'd be even happier.

Hi. You think e cigs are worth the price and effort?

yes i do, its like any other hobby, people fix up cars to make them fast, people mod computers, people like guns, and people like PV

as for myself i like to tinker with anything i can, i dont care about the time and effort i like being constructive, money wise i do it myself to save money

I ordered a Gold Rush, because I wanted to give 5V a try, but I did not want to spend too much. I have read good things about this one. I will let you know when I try it out.

So I am looking into box mods for my 510... i noticed some of the batteries are tube shaped that are acrylic, like this one Gold Rush Tube Mod, I typed in tube mod in google and the ones that came up were like $100 + , is there another name for this item?

sounds good! did you order the one thats already assembled for 49.99? or the one you solder together for 29.99? and i dont get how the battery voltage matters... would it burn out the atty?

Vaping really is all about power, which is all about voltage and resistance.

More power means more heat, which means more vapor.
Too much power means burnt tasting juice and possible blown atomizers.

Check this out for more information...
WWV Part II (page 5) | Vaping Guides

That guide explains everything in a user friendly way and includes a chart.
And that chart shows the power generated by various voltage/resistance combinations.
