Hi, I have the IP, IPv2, IPV3, and the IPV4S. Read what the other poster had written about a "recall". It's not Really a recall but more of a common sense warning when using the IPV3 and it applies to ALL IP devices. it talks about battery safty and proper use. it's important safty measures to use with ANY high wattage MOD. That said, let's address your fear of "blowing up". Even though most of these devices are 50 to 150 watts, they ALL have safty measures BUILT INTO THEM that prevent that kind of thing with proper use. These mods are REGULATED, NOT MECHANICAL. a mechanical mod has NO safty measures and Will for example, run a short. A regulated will NOT. a computer chips built into them will NOT allow certain things to happen that could result in danger when used correctly. That said, I doubt very seriously you can blow up using a regulated Mod. That danger is usually seen in mechanical mods. For example, if a mechanical mod runs a short it can effect the batteries causing a chemical reaction and if the batteries are not removed soon enough it will cause the batteries to vent . at that point if venting long enough this chemical reaction can cause a explosion. That said I think as long as you use your device as directed you are perfectly safe from explosion. I personally LOVE the IP devices. I've NEVER had ANY problems with ANY of mine. hope this helps and best wishes.
