Quick question about charging batteries...

I saw a review video for the Joye 510 PCC and the guy in the video said that if you leave the battery in the PCC for extended periods of time, such as while you sleep, it will actually charge the battery and then immediately begin discharging the battery so when you get back to the battery it is dead like when you began charging it.

He said the same is true for the a/c wall charger as well.

Has anyone ever experienced this or is he mistaken or the unfortunate owner of a lemon?

I could of swore I saw somewhere that the Titan chargers will stop charging them as soon as the battery reaches a full charge, but I can't be 100% on that. What I can tell you is that I have left my Titan 510 MP batts in the Mega charger overnight many a time, and I have never experienced a dead battery when I took them off. Something strange has started happening as of late though, when I take the battery off the charger I need to press the manual button a few times before it actually lights up. Perhaps this is related to leaving them in there too long?

My wife used a 510 w/PCC exclusively for several months. She never experienced what you described.

Very interesting. I kind of figured his case was unique because he is actually the ONLY person I have heard talk about this problem.

I've read that some high-end chargers have electronics that can tell when a battery is about to go kaput, and they do several charge-discharge cycles in an attempt to perk it back up again. The charge indicator will not show the battery to be fully charged at any time during that process. I doubt any e-cig on the market comes with one, though. They're a tad pricey!

He may be thinking of one of those, or he may not know what he's talking about.

This is pure memory so take it with a grain of salt on a mexican beer.Think I may have read the pcc will drain your battery if it(the pcc) does not have a charge to a certain level.Please correct me cause this sounds 100% wrong though do remember reading it somewhere.

batteries equalize. Example if you have one battery @6v and one @4v they will equalize to 5v each if placed in parallel (PCC with a battery in it). A battery can't create voltage it can only transfer it. It could only draw from the e-cig battery if the e-cig battery had a higher voltage than the PCC.

That makes sense.. So if I leave my PCC with a battery in it charging for a prolonged period of time I should make sure the PCC is plugged in so it can charge as well.
