Ok, just got my first bottom feeder today, it is an oldgoat. I was wondering with the on/off switch if left on does it actually drain the battery even when not firing, should I be putting it in the off position when not firing?
Most mods will not drain the batteries just by being switched on, it's usually just a safety and convenience feature like D-D said. I know the Ali'i had this issue, but I can't think of any other examples offhand.
I think it's just for safety too, however I always wonder about the little LED light inside and if that would possibly cause battery drain, so I keep mine off when I'm not vaping it.
LEDs don't draw much current (it varies, but I think somewhere in the range of 20-50mA, though I could be wrong). It would take a long time to drain your batteries that way ;-)
