For the subtank mini, if I decide to make my own coils do i get twisted kanthal or not twistet? There is double twisted, tripple, and quadruple. Also, what Guage do i get? Thanks

I suggest starting with something simple. I like regular 28ga kanthal. You can purchase it at Lightning Vapes for cheap. I build 2.5mm ID coils with it for my STM. I started with regular single strand micro coils, and now I mostly build 28ga parallel coils. Both builds are great on the STM.
Get your feet wet and learn how different builds affect your vape. You can twist your own, so you can just get a single-strand spool. Then do your own doubles or triples.
Are you talking about how many wraps from end to end? Or are you saying take multiple strands and twist them together and THEN make enough loops to run the cotton through?
ETA - when you'd mentioned double/triple/quadruple twisted, I read that as how many strands "spun together" with which you can make coils....
Start simple. I'd suggest some 28 and 30 Kanthal A1. The ramp up/down for heating is different, so trying both to see which you prefer is a good way to go. A simple single strand coil for starters.
Once you've built a few and are comfortable with the process is time enough to get into the more "exotic" builds.
The number of wraps (and ID of the coil), along with the gauge of the wire, is what determines the resistance. And there are calculators online that will tell you how many.
The screws on the STM base will not allow you to use too large of a wire and just a one loop coil will likely give very poor vaping results. But try what you want. Just no shorts.
As others have stated. Just get some 28gauge plain kanthal A1. Dont worry about twisted and all of that. Just youtube "28g kanthal build" and watch videos. If you can wrap a wire around a screwdriver, you can build a coil.
