I've got what is probably an easy question for some you DYI pros out there. I've looked at the DYI calculators and read quite a bit about making your own e-juice. I'm still confused on one thing  Most of the calculators suggest percentage amounts of flavoring - here's what I have on hand, so what would be a quick rule of thumb using LorAnns flavorings.

I have unflavored juice -- 50mg nic in 75pg / 25vg.

Just for the sake of keeping it easy and where I can wrap my head around this. If I want to make 10ml and keep it at 50mg ( I know that's to high - but leave it there for simplicity's sake ) - how much of the LorAnns drops would I add to 10ml to get enough flavor, but not to much as to dilute the nic and have it totally overpowering ?

Most of the recipes I see are using like 20% flavoring and percentages like that - what I can't understand is that I thought the LorAnns was very concentrated and only took drops according to what I read on their site, so how would you for example use 20% flavoring ?

I'm sure this is a two second answer for some of you, so help out a newbie please ! Thanks a ton !

You can't add anything to the base liquid and not change the nic level.

Even if you only added a single drop you would be diluting it some... not a lot, but some.

So, if you were to use 10% flavoring and you want 10 ml in the end, you would start with 9 ml of your base 50 mg liquid and add 1 ml flavoring. And that would give you a final nic level of 45 mg per ml.

If you wanted 20% flavoring you would start with 8 ml of base and add 2 ml of flavoring. And your finished liquid would have 40 mg per ml.

The amount of flavoring needed is varies depending on the brand and the flavor. It is also VERY subjective - what is strong for me might be weak for you. The only way to find out how much you need is to try it.

I suggest you start with smaller amounts and increase until you find what makes you happy. And make small batches at first until you are sure of a recipe.

Good luck.

Theoretically...adding any amount of 0mg flavoring to your 50mg nic juice is going to dilute it a bit. The only way to keep it at 50mg is if you add 50mg flavored nic juice.

Adding flavoring is purely subjective depending on the amount of flavor you want from your vapor. Your best bet is to take a 10ml bottle of nic juice and add a drop...test it...repeat if not flavorful enough. I use anywhere from 10-25% depending on the flavor. Some flavors are extremely powerful, others not so much.

antism! Thanks for catching my omission about adding 50 mg flavored! LOL

(I'm feeling kind of silly right now for leaving that out....)

Ok - Thanks guys - I pretty understand how it cuts down the strength of the nic - really, I was wondering on the LorAnns just a ball park idea of drops because I kept reading the high percentage of flavoring. Honestly - I doubt I'll be big into the flavorings at this point anyway - right now, the more it taste like a strong analog is what I need. The only reason I'm even considering the flavorings is to try and get a better throat hit, which I'm not having much luck with at all. I've even tried the Ever Clear 151 ( they don't sell the 190 in my area, but even that hasn't done much at all -
